This small hotel could set an example in hospitality management for any 5* deluxe hotel.
First of all their customer approach is top notch.
You recieve a welcome email with detailed information before arrival by the owner herself also encouraging you to contact directly if there is any issues during your stay. After departure you recieve a farewell email with a link to Tripadvisor, so you can leave a review.
Checkin was easy and quick. My special request was taken into consideration, I was given a beautiful room in a quiet location.
The rooms are very spacious, the beds are super comfy, lots of cushions, crispy white linen.
Air con and TV and the minifridge work just perfect. Wifi can be hit and miss, not the hotel's fault though, it's just the aerea.
Free safe and a coffeemaker with complimentary coffee, creamer, sugar. The bathrobes were an unexpected luxury.
Good water pressure on the shower, temperature easy to regulate.
Breakfast is very good for Costa Rica standards. It's partly buffet (coffee and milk, varieties of teas, juice or tea, homemade pastry, fruit jams, cereals, bread), and partly freshly prepared and served to your table with different choices (typical gallo pinto, omelette with cheese and tomatoe, pancakes). Also you are served a large platter of seasonal fruit every day.
Staff is lovely and the premise is spotlessly clean.
The pool is lit up at night and makes for a perfect setting for dinner on the terrace (Papaya Restaurant)
I only dined one but enjoyed the food very much. Portions are big, flavors are perfectly matched. Cocktails are great. A true explosion of aromas. I regret not having stayed long enough to sample their full menu.
The location is directly on the main road leading into Brasilito. Normally I try to avoid a location so close to the road. But honestly it was very quiet and once inside the hotel you feel like you are in the middle of the jungle, there are even wild iguanas roaming around.
I also had a tarantula visiting my room, but this is just wildlife in Cost Rica and a sign of healthful biodiversity. If you respect it and remove carefully from your room all is good.
I would recommend get here with a car or else stay inside after dark, specially as a solo women traveller I felt it wasn't the best of places to walk along the road from the city or beach to the hotel in the evening.
For me the best restaurant in the area is the one inside the hotel anyway, Brasilito is very small and hasn't a lot to offer beside the beaches so you don't you are missing out on anything if staying indoors.
I live this hotel and will certainly be back. Thank you and Pura Vida.
