Our family of 5 travelled to Ironbridge for a 3 night break with our 3 boys aged 5,9 and 11 and stayed at the Old Rectory. It was brilliantly located a 2 minute drive to the Ironbridge gorge and all the museums and sights in the area. We were allocated two huge adjoining rooms which were very comfortable, exceptionally clean and very well equipped with lovely touches everywhere
The very genial owner was extremely helpful , and very entertaining too and made all of us feel very welcome as did the other staff we met
The breakfasts were fantatstic , with hot food cooked to order and surpassed many w e have taken in 5 star hotels on our travels
We ate one dinner in the hotel on the night w e arrived ; and it was good wholesome and tasty food served in large quantities and was very good value
On the recommendation of the owner we tried the local King and Thai restaurant just up the road and it was so good w e went back the next night. This was one of the best Thai meals we have eaten and w e have eaten at the best in London

The Guest House is absolutely beautiful in a very good location.
The welcome we recieved was excellent. We had an elderly relative and David and his family extremely helpful in making sure all her neds were caered for.
The rooms were beautiful with lots of extras included. Very comfortable and warm.
We had an evening meal and could not have been more satisfied with the food.
Breakfasts also were lovely with choice and variety.
Breakfasts can often be a very stuffy affair in Guest Houses but the atmosphere was relaxed and informal.
David and his family could not do more to make you welcome. This is an excellent establishment I could not recommend highly enough.

All was booked on the 'net following reviews on Trip Advisor. The hotel website was so comprehensive, with excellent info and photos of each room. We chose The Wenlock Room.
We arrived on Friday evening to be greeted by one of the staff, who showed us to our room; it was gorgeous! She explained all about the room and the hotel and was very friendly.
There was a 4-poster bed, the room was beautifully decorated with quality furnishings and had a double jacuzzi bath to boot! There were chocolates on the bed, a full hospitality tray, lovely toiletries... the list could go on. Suffice it to say, they think of everything to make your stay an absolute pleasure.
As for the breakfasts! I have never stayed anywhere that offered so much. You really need to stay there to understand.
The owner was so friendly and helpful with regard to places to visit, to eat and the history of the area. Also, the information in the room pack was full of ideas for visiting the surrounding area.
It was a 15-minute walk into Ironbridge; across the bridge, which was a real treat.
We would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending The Old Rectory at Broseley for whatever length of stay.
We can guarantee; it won't disappoint.

Myself and my husband stayed just for a couple of nights at this luxurious B&B...We have never stayed at a B&B before.we are 5 Star Hotel People so expectations were high!. We were at the BSJA Scope festival and wanted to be close to this but be somewhere quiet. This B&B is about an hour away from Stafford County Show Ground..We will have no hesitation of booking this place again or recomending it to any of our business associates, friends and family. It is a superb place with beautiful rooms.. We stayed in the Wenlock room with the hot tub for 2 in the room (how fab!).Everything was Immaculate.! ..We came and went as we pleased, the Staff being most accomodating to what time we wanted breakfast etc.. There was no restriction on what time you had to return to the B& B at night either..!
What a lovely place, We wish the Proprietor every sucess with this place in the future.

This is a very well hidden Gem in the heart of Shropshire.
A warm welcome greets you from the proprietor Hazel, not to mention the antiques in the entrance hall.
We were given an enormous family room on the 1st floor, with an enormous bathroom, which you would find in any 5* establishment. Right down to the Royal Doulton tea service, attention to detail added charm & elegance. I would reccommend this B & B to any seasoned traveller. We only stayed one night on a stop over from our French holiday, the hearty breakfast we received next morning was second to none.
Highly reccommended.

My husband and I booked our wedding night at the Old Rectory, following our wedding in the local area, and were left extremely angry and disappointed with the treatment we received.

We contacted the owner as we were leaving our wedding reception in Bridgnorth at 11.15pm, only to receive a torrent of abuse from someone we can only assume was the owner/manager. We had overlooked, he graciously informed us, to send one of the wedding party to check in our bags, and he proceeded to yell that he had been up at 6.15, he wanted to go to bed, and he wasn't prepared to be messed about by 'people like us'. When we lost our phone reception, he telephoned the manager of our reception venue, and abused him instead.

Rather shaken by being spoken to so unexpectedly rudely on our wedding night, my husband and I felt we didn't have any choice but to continue, since we knew most of the local hotels had rented rooms to our other guests. Upon arrival, my husband attempted to apologise for any inconvenience we had caused, and explain that there had been a misunderstanding - in response, the gentleman threw up his arms and left the room.

The hotel have since withdrawn money from our credit card to compensate themselves for this. We have signed no agreement, and were not made aware at any point, that allows the hotel to claim 'late fees'.

The room itself was extremely clean and comfortable, and the staff who greeted us in the morning were very helpful and pleasant. We can only offer them our condolences.
