We stayed a few days. Not in a great area but Macapa not an ideal destination. We did not know you can't flush paper down the loo and blocked the toilet on day one. The breakfast was okay but the dining room needed more air-conditioning. The hotel is clean and the staff accommodating.

Ask for an executive room with no view on the river. All the rooms in front of the river are very noisy.
Wifi connection is poor.
Average breakfast.
Rooms aren't clean everyday.
Walking around is pretty dangerous. Better get a cab at the hotel.

Nice breakfast, very good rooms, but there was no big mirror in the bathroom, and the hotel just solved my complain in some minutes. I think that the most important thing to the traveller is to feel like home, and the hotel makes me feel like that!

Everyone knows busting Macapa can be overwhelming for the traveller, with its many options for dining, lodging, shopping and sightseeing.

But why be stressed out when one option consistently stands above the fray?

With its friendly staff, fresh fruit at breakfast and free shampoo samples, the hotel do forte deserves every Michelin star it gets.

Never wait for a cab as you set off to any activities -- There's always a group of taxistas waiting outside. Brand new treadmills await you for a sauna like spa treatment called trying to workout outside in the Amazon humidity.

The restaurant doesn't open for dinner, but the second floor restaurant at the hotel next door is the best in town.

Nice room, excellent location.
Staff speaks french, which is of great help if you don't speak portugese.
Surrounding is nice and safe, makes it a very pleasant place for an evening walk along the river.
