Nice place, amazing wave pool and facilities, However need to improve the service and room amenities. Overall its quit good to stay, accessible to Tagaytay. Staff are friendly and best for families, My only concern is to speed up the turn down, we came late but our room still not ready and there is a confusion from the resort side but we enjoy our stay and affordable

Chateau Royale October 6-8, 2016

Location: It is situated along the National Highway to Nasugbu, Batangas, very accessible even by public transport.

Rooms: Stayed in a log cabin twin room, which consisted of a double-decker and two single beds. Room had all the basics: LED TV with cable channels, closet, a small table, toilet and bath with hot shower. It was spacious enough for four people. However, as you will see in one of my photos, it seemed that their Housekeeping missed one major thing. One of the single beds was unfortunately broken, about to tear apart right in the middle on one side (not very good housekeeping standards especially for a resort charging for Php 4,100 per night based on their website). And the worst part was, even after we pointed it out and how it is dangerous for a guest to be allowed to sleep in a broken bed, it seemed that they have no apparent solution to this and we had to keep up with it for the rest of our stay. Point is, our company reserved and paid for most of the rooms for our company outing way ahead of schedule so I don’t think it is acceptable to give their paying guest such accommodation. Anyway, that’s just one of many things with this resort that was way below my standards. Hair dryer cannot even be provided when we requested for one.
They also have no intercom service so if you need anything, make sure you have mobile load to call their lobby via your mobile phone. This is not good especially since some rooms have poor to zero signal. They should have at least installed an internal means of communication for their guests’ accessibility and convenience.

Water was also a problem as water flow tended to be weak especially in the morning in the other rooms.

Rate: Our company paid for the rooms since this was for our outing but you can check their website for their room rates.

Food: Food we tried was during breakfast, probably the one that goes with the rooms. Average Filipino fare, nothing special to rave about. And their “dining area” at the Floating Restaurant could use some updating too. They have another outlet near their reception/lobby which looked much better than where we were having our breakfast.

Facilities: They have several swimming pools, including an indoor pool and a wave pool. They also have a large function area and a large open field (with lots of frogs in all sizes, if I may add) that is a good venue for team-building activities.

Service: The hotel staff were generally accommodating but some were slow in fulfilling room requests, probably because the resort was huge. When our room was released to us, we found out that there was a problem with the doorknob (it couldn’t be locked which was a big security problem) and immediately reported it to Front Desk. It took quite a while for somebody from their Engineering to arrive to fix the problem.
As for mobility, the resort has a jeepney which guests can use if they want to go from one point to another within the resort as it tends to be too tiresome to walk (resort was really big) or in our case, when it was raining.

Over-all rating: Below average, if you can find other places to stay, then do so. Personally, I won’t come back here if I were a paying guest. They should really enforce strict housekeeping policies, I am really disappointed with the broken bed and the door lock. These should have been inspected way before their guests have checked in, especially considering that we were a big group (100++ pax in all). Having worked in the F&B industry before, I was not a happy guest here. I hope that they improve in all their inadequacies.

Room Tip: request for rooms that are far from the highway to avoid street noise especially during night time.

The bed's springs can be felt when you sleep on them.

The aircon in our room wasn't initially working. We also had to have the flush fixed, but since they can't fixed it, they just provided a pail. Horrible experience overall.

We picked the resort based on its location, where a wedding is happening 5 minutes away. The grounds were huge as we pass by an open field with an area for obstacle course - perfect for team building and company outings.

We didn't mind the huge pool(s) as it was raining the weekend we were there. Foggy too! You can rent a golfcart or use your car to roam to premises. Walking from one area to another may be a feat for weary legs though.

We got a cabin, which is far from the main clubhouse, but accessible, yet roads dangerously dark at night because of the fog.

The room is basic, bare, but roomy. Furnitures were custom-fit. Some beds/mattresses feels worn. We were four, and if needed, we can still add two (2) extra beds with the space. They have a ceiling fan with lights as an extra but everything still looks dim, thus eerie.

Bring your own toiletries as theirs may not be enough or of standard if you are picky with yours. Towels look old, yet smelled clean. Cabin smelled damp and needed airing. You may borrow an electric kettle for your hot water needs.

Grocery is about 3kms away from the main gate and reachable via private car. So best to buy your snacks and food if you don't plan to eat at the clubhouse.

Best for big groups. Not for intimate R&R's.

My family went here for our holiday vacation Oct.30-31 and we just arrived home now. I'm writing this review so everyone can get something from this

The place is a lot cheaper than what it offers than the other resorts
They have big rooms and spaces
A lot of amenities you could use
The wave pool happens by its schedule they definitely follow it
The safety in the pool is well maintained
The place isn't crowded like any other place
There is a big space from company and school outings
The place gives a comfy vibe its also quiet at night.

The free breakfast said that it will be a buffet, we went there and they were controlling the viand! My lolo wanted all the ulam since they control how much is to be put on your plate anyway but ugh they were like sorry po only one ulam. we also weren't a lot at the place and there were lots of ulam left after everyone had already eaten! Plus they said kids 4 to 11 are free and my cousins got lugaw "lugaw lang!!!" and the manager was like you have to pay for that sir. FREE BREAKFAST RIGHT?!

They offer lots of amenities, don't be fooled! All the excuses they could have and ever think of they will tell you. we asked for the golf zip line atvs and everything else we could ask but they said the workers wouldn't be there till 9 so we waited at the lobby till 9:30 to give extra time instead of updating us I was so pissed already and asked the receptionist if the amenities were already available. But she said the workers aren't there yet and a lot of other excuses SO UPSET they have the schedule and everything else but wasted because of poor management!!!!!

They only have one receptionist! we were lining up for 20 mins just to have the needed information. Hay.

The rooms get warm sometimes. I asked the management to fix the cable for the nth time and they said that the cable itself really had problems so I said ahh okay but then I went to our room and check just to find out that the cable was broken! they could've fixed that before we arrive

And oh they don't have tissue inside the bathroom, the shower is so lame huhu there is barely any water going out of it plus the toilet is always clogged they don't have a phone so you could call the receptionist btw the walk from the rooms and the lobby is too far, poor management and communication between staffs!

There is a zoo that is barely maintained well. the animals looked really kawawa and hungry. Locking them up without being properly taken care of breaks my heart

all in all I enjoyed the wave pool but if it doesn't offer that then Im just going to be so pissed. They should really see all the reviews and read them so they can improve! The place is really nice but with poor management and staff, that place is going down soon.

My family and I had a very nice experience in this resort. We were surprised that with their affordable room rate,we were able to experience probably one of the nicest RnR in our years of travelling both locally and abroad. The resort is spacious with a lot of activities to do aside from swimming in their 3 pools. The place is relaxing and quiet. Its a peaceful experience away from our busy city life. We were supposed to spend the weekend in another overrated resort near Chateau, but was told of no room availability. The travel agent then recommended Chateau Royale and now we're thankful that we got be introduced to this resort. Now, we are booking again. But this time with friends and their families.

We stayed in Chateau Royale for a 2-day conference. We were supposed to stay here for 2 nights, but decided to go home earlier because everything was bad. Here's a list of everything that I disliked about this place:

1. The food was terrible! Our first meal during the conference was composed of the following: something that resembles carbonara with noodles that are way too overcooked, pork that had no taste at all, fried cream dori, and plain rice. They even tried to put all these together in a plate but it just looked boring, messy, pale, and gross.
2. It takes a long time for them to accomplish the simplest of tasks: 30 minutes just to set up an extra bed in our room which was meant for triple sharing; 30 minutes just to wait for a golf cart; MORE THAN AN HOUR waiting time for food ordered at their restaurant.
3. Room quality is very bad. The sheets are stained and look like very old hospital sheets, there are some sockets with protruding wiring, the water pressure of the shower is very low - imagine just three narrow threads of water coming out of the shower, metal fixtures in the bathroom are starting to rust.
4. The "Skylight Premier" building had very dark lighting in the hallways and the design looked very gloomy. Instead of stairs, they had a wheelchair ramp. One of the staff later told me that it was meant to be a retirement home that they converted into a "hotel".
5. There was a power outage and they had no back-up generator. Good thing I was not in the elevator when it happened.
6. Customer service is the worst. For example, when I asked them why it was taking long for them to send a golf cart, they answered "Because it's raining." - This is precisely why I needed a golf cart to take me back to the venue! Because I would get wet if I walk in the rain so I need a golf cart to take me there.

This list can go on and on and on...
