I would absolutely recommend Mr Min Min treks.
From the moment you email Sivah (Mr Min Min) you know are dealing with a friendly, local professional. For starters, you will get a speedy and informative response to any emails and questions, and from then on it only gets better!
It soon became obvious that Sivah is an excellent and experienced guide - you are in safe hands. Sivah gave us a detailed explanation of the route we would follow (he even allowed us to keep the map he used to illustrate the path), he also mentioned that he had 9 years experience of guiding tourists in the Shan region. He ran through what the accommodation would entail and also tribes and scenery you will encounter. Throughout the trek Sivah pointed out cultural nuances, animals, plants, agricultural processes, and answers any further questions you may have about the area. He even picked a few local delicacies for us to try along the way.
The chosen accommodation is comfortable, friendly and authentic. Topping this, Sivah has an excellent rapport with the local tribes and can speak their languages, so he could involve us in the cooking of local dishes. The food was AMAZING! You will not go hungry! It was lovely that Sivah joined us for post trekking beers when we discussed topics from puppies to football and one another’s culture.
The boat trip included at the end of the trek is a lovely and relaxing way to finish. We toured traditional sites around Inle Lake, such as a silver merchant and women with long necks.
Overall the days past too quickly and our trek was a real highlight of our trip to Myanmar - this is largely down to Sivah. Sivan’s trek is excellent value for money.
