We enjoyed our stay very much not only because the house and grounds were stunning but also because of the views and the location. The drive up the winding road is a bit daunting but we'll worth it. What made the stay however were the hosts Simon and Carmen who were both charming and entertaining and very helpful with advice for our day trips out. We ate in twice on meals prepared by Simon which were excellent. Continental breakfast was very good particularly sitting on the veranda taking in the view.

A spectacular location high above the Tuscan end of the Ligurian coast, and just along from Carrara of marble fame; Simon and Carmelo have turned a 1970s house into a super-stylish eagle's nest, with clean, minimalist styling throughout. Good wifi extends to the beautiful area around the infinity pool; and Sam the Norfolk Terrier goes out of his way to ensure guests feel valued, adding to the warm human welcome. Excellent breakfasts on the terrace, and we enjoyed dinner too (normally provided on alternate evenings, I understand). Our one reservation is the effort involved in getting to and from Casa Colleverde, given there are no facilities in the immediate vicinity: ten minutes of fairly tortuous driving before you get back down to the undistinguished suburban area down on the plain, and another ten minutes to reach any decent restaurants (the Armanda up on the next hilltop at Castelnuova Magra itself was lovely).

We recently for 5 nights at Casa Colleverde. It was terrific. The house and gardens are built to extremely high standards and beautifully maintained. The setting is glorious with magnificent views and great wildlife (birds and butterflies abound). Simon and Carmelo are excellent hosts - food is excellent and nothing was too much trouble. We were truly welcomed into their house. We have stayed in many B&Bs/small hotels around the world and this is equal first with two or three others.

Simon, Carmelo (and Sam) are the best of hosts - attentive, charming yet unobtrusive - and make you completely welcome to their home. They provide first class comfort in spacious suites, and supply excellent breakfasts and dinner. Add in the fabulous location with mountain and sea views from the windows or the infinity pool, and what more could you ask for? It is a great base for beach or coast and hill walking, or day trips to historic cities such as Pisa or Lucca. We had a wonderful time.

Room Tip: All 3 suites are generously sized and beautifully furnished.

What a great long week end we had staying at Case Colleverde!! Simon and Carmelo were lovely hosts and provided us with lot's of great information about the region. Our room overlooked the pool and we had an amazing view of the surroundings. The breakfast was also delicious. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a small and quiet B&B!
