Well maintained pleasant scenery pleasant staff and friendly only drawback is that not many British speaking holiday makers.the food was a bit repetitive but enjoyable.only had limited entertainment although the Greek night was energetic.

We arrived at this hotel late at night and were left a stale sandwich and some apples in the fridge unfortunately due to our late arrival we missed breakfast and soon found these horrible cheese and ham sandwiches were only bar snacks available too along with some olives, tomato, cucumber and feta. These lie out on the bar all day and are just a soggy mess. The rooms are small but have everything you need and are cleaned daily. The beds are very uncomfotable though.
We took the all inclusive option but I would advise against it! The food is very repetitive with not alot of choice and you can only get icecream between 4-5pm which isn't great when you have small children in the heat. There is ice-cream which you can buy which you will find with almost everything. Diet cola is not part of the AI and the only alcoholic drinks available under AI is brandy, wine, ouzo and beer. The male bar staff are rude and will serve everyone else before you when they see the AI wristband and don't expect your table to be cleared between courses either when you are AI, this left us with piles of dirty dishes on our table at every meal.
The hotel itself has a lovely garden area but the surrounding area is quite bleak with not much else around. We weren't impressed with the restaurants nearby. The beach had quite a bit of litter but is still nice and only a 10 minute walk from the hotel.
We hired a car; the island is lovely and worth a visit. It's easy to travel around in a short space of time.
Air-conditioning is 5 euro per night extra which you will need as there are loads of mosquitos.
My husband also cut his hand on broken glass left on the bar, the bar man was more interested in making sure he wasn't being blamed rather than helping my husband stem the blood flow. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful though.
The baby pool next to the park when we arrived was dirty but was eventually cleaned. There was no entertainment for the children and I would say this hotel is more suited to OAP's.
I wouldn't return.

After reading previous comments about this hotel, I was worried that we had made the wrong choice. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist. We headed to our room which was a top floor pool view, the room was very clean but basic. We unpacked our things and decided to explore a little, the surrounding areas were fairly quiet. The beach was lovely, although it looked like the resort was just gearing up for the main season. There wasn't much down by the beach other than a few restaurants and bars, if you're looking for a lively holiday then this isn't for you. Back at the hotel, most of the staff were friendly, and spoke good English. There wasn't much in the way of entertainment, in fact there was only one evening where live music was played, the rest of the time it was just a selection of music that was on a constant loop. The food was ok, but not very hot, although we mentioned this to our rep and he spoke to the kitchen staff about this, to be honest I didn't see much improvement. We were one of 4 English in the hotel, however we did get to know a wonderful Dutch couple who spoke very good English. There wasn't much for the few children that were there to do, fortunately for us it was just me and my husband. The Wi-Fi is a nightmare, get more than 2 people on it and you have no chance, and you can only get it in reception. The pool areas are spotless, but as with most places people were going down early and "claiming" their sunbeds. We hired bikes with another couple and cycled into Tigaki, which appears to be a popular resort. The drinks were just the beer wine and ouzo, anything else was not included, not even the local equivalent of many drinks, this was something of an issue with most of the guests. The beer that was served was served in small half pint glasses which was what you got if you asked for a large beer. There are animals in the surrounding fields, and yes the cockerel does crow early in a morning but to be honest this didn't really bother us. Mosquitos were a problem and I got bitten to pieces, but apparently it does get better the further into the season you go, it doesn't help that not too far from the hotel there is a salt lake. The air conditioning was not included contrary to what we were led to believe, it was another 5 euro per day to have it on, so we made do with the fan in the room, which to be honest sounded like it was going to fall down, so we did turn it off during the night. Would we go back to this hotel? No I really don't think so, that said we did have a wonderful holiday. A visit to the Hamam in Tigaki is recommended. I also think that some of the earlier reviews should be removed as there is no longer an old block.

Have just returned from our fifth visit to this hotel and it is improving all the time. The staff work so hard to give everyone a good stay.It is brilliant value for money ..I dont know how they manage it for the price..
The rooms are spacious, comfortable and beautifully cleaned with frequent clean towels and sheets.
The food is delicious and varied. There is always a big choice , even near the end of the serving time.
The all inclusive drinks are fine and you can buy cocktails and known labels drinks at very fair prices.
The pool areas are kept spotless with plenty of sunbeds.
The area is rural and quiet as is the hotel. Its ideal for a chill out time .Its not a good choice for people who want to live it up and be noisey especially late into the night.
There are plentiful and cheap buses nearby .You can hire bikes for five euros a day ..it's ideal for cycling as the roads are flat and almost traffic free,
The beach is one of the best with silken sand and a gentle slope into the sea.Ideal for children. It can get windy somedays but if this happens we head to the south of the island where the wind is less. However on a hot summers days the breeze is very cooling .
So for a restful , good value holiday you can't beat Pyli Bay!Welldone and thank you to all the staff,

Room Tip: Higher floors have super views.

On arrival the hotel was very quiet and at first we were given the wrong room, and thought what have we done!we went to bed, which was like a brick and woke to the sound of cows ,cockerels and dogs.went for breakfast in the hotel restaurant which is served buffet style as is all meals.a varied selection at all meal times some of the food did not appear very appetising, but be adventurous as it turns out to taste better than it looks.beware of the toilets here they stink!the hotel is perhaps the cleanest I have stayed in spotless covers it!2 pools over the site both again well presented with adequate pool furniture.over the week the hotel got busier with other nationalities mainly German!turns out the 3 of us were the only uk guests..the surrounding area was very quiet .it takes approx 10 minute walk to the endless beach long and sandy.there are few wee bars restaraunts but on the whole if you like abig selection this is not the resort for you. We did the bus trip to kos twice which costs 2euros twice and this takes about 20 minutes. Back to the hotel we did all inclusive but the choice of drinks were the usual local beer ,draught local wine brandy and ouzo that is it!our son got an endless supply of soft drinks.and the snack bar did not appear to exist.the staff do there best to understand English but appear to be more fluent in German and French.overall the 3 star rating is spot on. One thing I do recommend to do on your visit to kos is visit the volcanic island of nisyros an excellent day out!,

Room Tip: Ask for one in the main block where you check in,,they are the sea view with a terrific outlook over to turkey all rooms have a decent balcony .
