My husband and I came to this wonderful hotel through a half-price weekend package from DeinDeal - the Swiss competitor to GroupOn. Usually when you are a "cheap" customer, hotels save their best service for the "full price" customers. Not so at the Falkenstein Grand Kepminski. From the moment we entered the front door, we were treated like royalty.

Our first fantastic surprise was the Fürste-Suite which is huge. It has a a very comfortable king sized bed, a complete living room, kitchen, and a marble bathroom with double sink and a large bathtub/shower. Everything is furnished in a charming old world style but with every modern convenience imaginable. There were complementary cookies, mineral water, and a nice letter waiting for us in the living room. We immediately felt at home.

Our package included a three course dinner on friday night in the bistro and a four course dinner on saturday in the restaurant which has 15 Gault Millau points. Our friday dinner was absolutely delicious. (Parsnip soup garnished with black truffles and cream, a fabulous fish with Pommery mustard sauce, whipped potatoes, and spinach with asparagus, and a serving of assorted mini-desserts.) While having an after dinner drink in front of the fireplace in the bar, we noticed that the hotel was hosting a 5 course dinner / whisky tasting on saturday. We asked if we could participate and were warmly welcomed. We only had to pay the difference between the price of the meals. Again on saturday, the dinner was 5 star and the addition of the whisky seminar / tasting made the evening extremely enjoyable. It was an event that will live long in our fond memories. Also included in our package was the morning breakfast buffet which is served in the main restaurant and caters to every desire whether healthy or hearty. Having morning coffee from real china cups served in a room with Renoir reproductions is amazingly soothing.

The weather was gray and cold during our stay, but it made no difference. The hotel is made up of a main building and a number of residences which date back to the time of Kaiser Wilhelm. All of the residences are connected to the main building by a series of well lit, carpeted tunnels so facing the weather is optional. It is completely appropriate to walk from your room in the cozy robes the hotel provides to the wellness area. The wellness area has 2 saunas, a whirlpool, and a heated outdoor pool plus a relaxing area with complementary water, tea, and fruit. It is small and popular but the facilities are immaculate. For my taste, the whirlpool could have been one or two degrees warmer, but that is really a minor consideration.

The best part about this great hotel however is the staff. They are warm and friendly and move heaven and earth to make sure all guests are well attended to. This staff exudes pride in a job well done!

We can only give this hotel our highest recommendation. If you find yourself in the Frankfurt area, it is truly worthwhile to travel the 20 minutes from the hotel to downtown. This hotel is so well run, it is an oases. Whether travelling for business or pleasure, the Falkenstein Grand Kempinski is a destination in and of itself.

Stayed one night for business in July 2011.
I was given a suite which is basically a 60 sqm. flat with kichen, living room and conservatory.
If you fancy space you will love it. Personnally I felt that for a single person this was a waste of space.
Everything is well maintained and well finished, although very traditional, this is not a design hotel.
Beware this room did not have air conditionning. However it seems that bedrooms in the main building have A/C.
Service at reception and breakfast is OK. I have heard people calling this hotel five stars but this felt definately more like a four star hotel to me.
Seems overall a safe choice, would not hesitate to go back again.

My friend and I stayed at the Kempinski and had wonderful spa days. The staff was very friendly and helpful (also with sightseeing tips) and the spa was spacious and inviting. Great view at the Frankfurt skyline from our room and the hotel's terrace. Overall a great hotel - for business or pleasure.

I stayed at the Kempinski Falkenstein about 30 nights this year out of approx. 100 hotel nights this year. I love the service, breakfast is great (try the pancakes), location is great for outdoor running and walking but gym is also quite nice for a hotel gym. Pool is amazing. Food is excellent in the bar and the restaurant.
