A lovely warm welcome & fantastic food. Great pub grub. Delicious starters and fantastic mains. Reasonably priced too- Only £40 for 2 courses each plus drinks. Great selection on the menu. We left suitably stuffed after a long day exploring the local area in wet weather.

Thank Lisa M

I am a member of a walking group and we were to meet at The Miner's Arms in Adlington to start our walk but I was asked to pre-order my lunch by reading the menu on their web site. In the event the walk was cancelled so I cannot comment on a visit for a pub lunch.
My review relates to the difficulty I found in getting on to the current web site Googling Miners Arms Adlington produces a long list of sites referring to the premises when it was managed by a previous owner.
To get the current management google Miners Arms POYNTON!

First visit to this pub: first impressions, clean, pleasant, welcoming staff; muzak noticeable but no more annoying than usual.
As the first to arrive we expected reasonably quick service, but the bream with roasted vegetables and new potatoes took some time to arrive. At £12.50, the portion size was somewhat disappointing, but worse, the oily roast vegetables had apparently been stir-fried with a great deal of salt. As a first-time bream sampler I can only say it that it seemed a bit dry. Because of the relatively small main course, we ordered a pudding, which we thought could be served quickly, as there were still not many people present. The "boozy" (? why) apple crumble took even longer to be served, was also smaller than expected, and was excessively sweet.
Given all the publicity recently about the dangers of too much salt and sugar, these recipes should have been rethought. For example, diners may always add salt to a low-salt meal; the reverse is impossible.
Yes, we could have complained, but as we still had several miles to walk back to our car an hour and and quarter after arriving, we didn't want spend more time waiting for replacements.

We had a lovely meal, food was hot, nicely presented & cooked as requested. The staff were friendly, had a smile on their faces and were more than happy to help, made us feel very welcome.
I will definitely be frequenting The Miners again soon.
Thank you all for a lovely evening.

Had lovely fish and chip lunch in this dog friendly pub. Portions were very good size.
It was the first outing for the puppies as they were just 3 months old. There were water bowls for them to have a drink and they were allowed in quite a large area of the pub.
