Overall stay at the hotel was average. For a four star hotel, we expected more. Breakfast was of 2 star quality. Pastries were stale, variety was minimal. Rooms were not cleaned properly during the 5 nights stay.

I am saddened to learn about your poor experience at the Krystal Beach Hotel. You will observe that we enjoy excellent Online Travel Agency ratings as well as a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor.

Your comment was immediately brought to the attention of ALL the Department Heads concerned and tough words were spoken. Indeed, in the Hospitality Industry, consistency pertaining to service excellence, is always of paramount importance and NO breach will be tolerated.

Kind regards, Richard.

Beautiful Hotel. Rooms are very nice and big (especially the bathroom). Spa und Fitnessroom were also very clean. Reception and Houskeeping very friendly. Hotel is perfect situated and not far away from the old part of Gordons Bay.

Good location and a pleasant hotel with food available on sit that was fine - especially the Sunday buffet. Good restaurants nearby and the beach is right outside the door! Only downside was the noise of the wind but not the fault of the hotel - it was howling! We will be back.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at the Krystal Beach Hotel with us. The Krystal Beach is indeed a gem, exuding a quiet sophistication without any trace of snobbishness, in harmony with tranquil décor conducive to relaxation, and all our rooms have truly spectacular views. We really do offer unrivalled value for money, and our staff love to please, not merely because it is our job to do so, but because it is our calling. We do hope you will come visit us again. Kind regards, Richard.

Beautiful room with very comfortable bed and lots of space with excellent service. We had view over the sea and surroundings. Nice breakfast (Buffet). A few restaurants next door including one in the hotel were all very good. Somerset Mall is not far away for shopping, eating etc.

Thank you for your kind words of praise. Our suites, and indeed all our rooms, are widely acclaimed for their spaciousness, peaceful ambience, with magnificent views and all the mod cons any discerning traveller would expect from a five-star hotel. The beverage stations with refrigerators and Nespresso coffee machines are much appreciated. If one requires a room conducive to utter relaxation, with absolutely awesome views, one cannot do better than stay at the Krystal Beach. Yours sincerely, Richard.

My Partner and I stayed @ Krystal Beach over new years. We had the King Suite.
- Staff at reception were not friendly and the gentlemen that showed us our room didn't give us a tutorial of the room.
- Nice hotel; beautiful and spacious rooms.
- Rest rooms are beautiful but a bit smelly.
- King bed is huge, but needs to be a bit softer.
- restaurant is very very good, with fresh food.
- breakfast buffet is also good.
- great entertainment at the Captains Table (happy hour was good!)
- We booked a spa treatment on the 31st, we were scheduled to start at 14:00 but ended up starting our treatments at 14:15. We were given no gowns or slippers.

We are proud of our rooms. Best of all our rooms are most affordable, and this value-add benefit is arguably unrivalled within the Cape hospitality arena, which makes staying at the Krystal a must.

I think what differentiates the Krystal Beach Hotel from other fashionable hotels is our floor design that suggests a sense of “Lebensraum” that seamlessly integrates the art gallery, the restaurants and our well-appointed lounges with uncluttered furnishings. The ambience remains warm and welcoming but without any sense of claustrophobia.

The Krystal Beach is located at the very epicentre of the best attractions and activities that the Western Cape has to offer. I do hope you were able to visit some of the below places or partake in some of the following activities.

1. Swim, tan, picnic and chill on our pristine Bikini, Strand, and numerous other coastal drive beaches.
2. Enjoy wine tasting and dining at ± 30 award-winning and historic Somerset West wine estates. Enjoy the adjacent Stellenbosch and Elgin Wine Routes.
3. Visit the KogelBerg Reserve and the Harold Porter Botanical gardens.
4. During the Cape Winter season (especially June to October), view Whales & Dolphins in False Bay and along the coastline to nearby Hermanus, acclaimed the world’s best land-based whale watching resort town.
5. Try your hand at fishing or boating.
6. Enjoy the magnificent Clarence Mountain Drive past picturesque coastal holiday and fishing villages, commencing 15 minutes’ drive time from the Krystal Beach.
7. Visit Penguin Nature Reserve at Stony Point.
8. Visit the Elgin Valley and Bot River areas: view vineyards, apple and pear orchards and beautiful mountains. This self-drive route offers spectacular photographic opportunities.
9. Lonely Planet recently listed Cape Canopy Tour (located in the Elgin Valley near Grabouw, only 15 minutes from the Krystal Beach Hotel), and scale the rugged Hottentots Holland Mountains in the Cape Nature reserve of the same name. Lonely Planet has described it as “vertigo-tinged fun and an exciting aerial perspective.” Do so in the company of soaring eagles, surrounded by breath-taking Cape Fynbos panoramas and mountain-scape.
10. Play Golf at any one of several excellent courses, all within easy reach of the Krystal Beach.
11. Take a quick drive to Cape Town: home to the V & A Waterfront, Robben Island Tours, and Table Mountain’s Cable Car.
