We have just returned from a 2 night stay where we were lucky to see this beautiful area covered in snow.
The location was perfect to drive to the surrounding villages and to walk to the pub for a lovely dinner, highly recommend The Inn at Fossebridge.
Our stay was cosy and relaxing, the cottage was perfect and had everything we needed and all of the family were very welcoming and helpful. Thank you Ros and Hugh for being so friendly and making sure we had everything we needed, also thank you to your son (sorry I didn’t catch his name) for pointing us in the right direction on our way back to the cottage yesterday and making sure we went the best way not to get stuck in the snow.
Although we only stayed a couple of nights we had a lovely relaxing break. Lovely breakfast with homemade bread freshly made. Everything you could need was there, cleverly stored in this small but very clean & modern cottage. The bed was very comfortable & we slept soundly each night. If you like walking there are plenty of walks in the area & the hosts have left directions for these. The pool is kept very clean by Hugh our friendly host (Ros his wife was away so unfortunately we did not meet her) but although the weather was good we weren't brave enough to test the water! We would thoroughly recommend this place but, just one word of caution, mind your head on the beams!!
Location fab, peace and tranquility had, accommodation had everything needed, the use of the pool was a welcomed bonus, Roz, Hugh and children perfect hosts and nothing was a problem. We had a very relaxed break and would recommend this property 100% it was a perfect find. If you just want to sit and chill out or walk around the area and eat drink and mingle with the locals or go further a field in the Cotswolds this is the base to stay. Thank you so much as its the first time I have returned to work feeling like I have had a break
Shrove Cottage was the perfect little place to stay while we were in the area over the weekend. We would highly recommend it for singles, couples or two friends looking for a very clean, welcoming and cozy stay. Very relaxed and friendly - and the home baked bread we were welcomed with was delicious. Thank you Ros, we would definitely stay again.
Me and girlfriend was looking for a cosy place to stay as first our holiday together in the beautiful Cotswolds and the Shrove Cottage has been absolutely perfect.
From the moment upon arrival we were greeted with warm welcome from the hosts. We had chosen the continental breakfast option and all the ingredients were waiting for us when we arrived along with home baked bread, milk, locally sourced eggs, orange juice, cereal and more.
All the information on what to do and see were provided which was very useful as we wanted to see as much as we could for couple nights stay. Wifi was super fast which was a bonus!
The accomodation is cosy and its perfect for couples. Everything was clean, nicely organised and very comfortable.
Location of the Shrove Cottage is amazing. It's very peaceful and have the most loveliest of views.
We would definitely recommend Shrove Cottage to others and would like to return ourselves.
Had high expectations having seen other reviews, and the hosts did not disappoint. Everything was clean and nicely organised, home-baked loaf of bread as well as the cooked breakfast ingredients all waiting for us. Lovely quiet location, and only a short drive from several great places to visit. Studio area upstairs is compact, and people taller than six foot would probably struggle to use the kitchen sink comfortably, but for a short break it's absolutely fine. Would recommend to others and would like to return ourselves.
Incredible location, even better hosts. We have stayed twice in the two months, both times we were warmly greeted with fresh milk, bread, bacon, and eggs. The charming village of Chedworth was perfectly accented by Ros and this hidden gem.
