We stayed for 1 night in July and really enjoyed it. The room was nice - a one-bedroom suite with high ceilings, a full kitchen and a nice little balcony overlooking the village. We would recommend it and would return - no complaints. Great summer get-a-way!

Our stay here was for a conference, held down the street at the Blue Mountain Inn. It was not the first time I had stayed here, so I knew pretty much what to expect, and was not disappointed.

Check in went smoothly, with an appropriately warm greeting at the desk. The room was a one bedroom suite, situated on a bend in the hall, so it was actually larger than expected. It was clean, visually attractive with a fireplace, a good sized balcony and a full kitchen. Lots of room to roam as well. The only (small) problem was the location of the television. It is across the room, and at an odd angle to the furniture. With the unusual shape of the room this is a small concern.

The bedroom is good, with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom, accessible from both the bedroom and the main room, is adequate. However, the shower leaves something to be desired, namely water pressure. It is very difficult to get a good flow of water.

The only real downside to the property on this occasion was the convention of Rotarians being held, with an extremely loud hospitality room which spilled into the hall, and the endless children running up and down, apparently from a hockey tournament. All became quiet late in the night, but the initial noise was very loud.

Overall, we really enjoyed The Grand Georgian and would recommend it.

I was at the Grand Georgian for a conference this past weekend. It was the first time I had been to the Blue Mountain Resort and I thought that the venue had a lot to offer to people of all ages. There were many of us staying in the Grand Georgian and we each had a different room style. The room I stayed in was loft-style: the main floor had a nice sized kitchen, an average bathroom with a large soaker tub, a dining room table and chairs, and a pull-out couch, a nice sitting chair, a gas fireplace and a large flat screen tv. Upstairs, there was a King bed, a closet and another flat screen. Overall, I was very happy with this room. All of the other rooms I saw were on one level: one had a queen bed that was lower to the ground, another - smaller - room had a double bed and a pull-out couch (both of these rooms were bachelor-style), and the last room was a one-bedroom. All had kitchens, tvs, and dining areas.

I also had the opportunity to use the hot tub at the Grand Georgian, which was outdoors and a good size.

The staff at the Grand Georgian and in the conference centre were all very friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay a welcome one. I would recommend this resort to others.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms have balconies and some have outdoor patio access (seemed to be private) ask for this if you like patios/balconies.

I came here for a huge dance competition held in june. We stayed at the grand georgian, it was definitely one of the nice places to stay, compared to the inn ( which was dirty and not as well taken care of, although the staff was exceptional! ). The grand georgian is the main place to sign in to get your room keys etc for all the different places ie weider lodge, mosaic etc. The pool was outside, was cold and seemed a bit dirty. Unfortunately only one of the hot tubs were working which i didnt mind to much. It was definitely a more calmer place that you couldnt have kids running around. The blue mountain resort in general was very accomodating, hatley scoops and rocky mountain chocolat factory are a must if you stay there. I loved the little market where you could buy stuff, it was a little overpriced to buy food, but her, it was expected. In the grand georgian we had a mini kitchen which came in very useful and our window view was facing the pool which was nice i must admit. The inn at blue mountain was underconstruction when i was there, but there is a nice huge lobby that they have there which was very nice! The service and the workers there were all just so welcoming. The gondAla ride is something else you should check into if you go, very nice scenjs view from the top, although can get windy so id recommend holding on to anything you dont want to lose! (lost a good cap) anywAys all in all exceptional, definitely somewhere id recommend you bring the whole family! And a plus, free shutlle buses! Those came in handy considering the size of the resort. There were tons of things to do, the splash zone is nice though a bit unecessary unless yoy have small kids, the pool is just as good, no sens paying to go to a bigger pool with a miniatur play structure. So that was an enjoyable stay and you should definitely go do a visit!

August 2011

Even though we live in Ontario and have been skiing at Blue Mountain in the past, we had never seen the place in the summertime. So instead of our usual summer trip to Florida or the Caribbean, we tried Blue Mountain this year. And I have to admit we had a good time. No, it's not tropical. But it has a nice flair just the same.

We stayed at the Grand Georgian which is one of three or four hotels situated in or near the Blue Mountain Village. The Blue Mountain Village is a planned 'community' of hotels and shops arranged in a car-free (thus carefree) configuration. The cars are left at the entrance, and you walk into the village. Walking communities generally have a vibrancy that is lacking in areas where automobiles are given priority. This dynamic seemed to be proven out by Blue Mountain Village.

The hotel we stayed at is integrated into one of the many buildings that comprise the village. So we were able to exit our hotel and find ourselves in the midst of a small but interesting shopping district. There are shops catering to most age groups & interests. Just walking around is interesting in itself.

There is a village square that occasionally served as a venue for various performers who were participating in a multi-town music festival that happened to be on while we were there.

There are a number of activities available throughout the day such as hiking up the mountain, bike-riding, gondola, the Ridge Racer coaster, etc. There is a private beach for the hotel located about five minutes' drive away. The on-site pools and hot-tubs were also enjoyable.

At night, there are several restaurants & pubs in the village. The prices are somewhat premium, but the food was good. The candy and ice-cream shops were the biggest hit with the kids of course. As a couple, we enjoyed the little late-night coffee shop across the 'street' from our hotel.

In all, we did enjoy ourselves. But we are not sure if we will return. The village is small enough to 'do' in one visit. Whether or not we will do it again is for next summer to decide.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the pool, village, or mountain. It might be nicer than looking at the parking lot.
