“Steamers Cafe (in the park) Newly Opened”

Delamont Country Park

Called in last weekend with the family for coffee and a treat for the kids. This was my first visit since this newly built café was opened. The menu is typical café and reasonably priced, coffee is excellent. The café is tastefully designed with comfortable chairs and a pleasant and friendly proprietor James who also operates the miniature railway running just outside. James has ambitious plans to develop this new enterprise, I wish him well, be sure to put this new location on your must visit list.

The Camping and Caravan site at the entrance to Delamont Country Park is first class with large mostly level pitches. The wardens and their assistants could not be more welcoming or helpful. Toilet block is spotless and the abundant floral displays give a homely feel. Access to the country park is easy and there are so many wonderful places to visit nearby. Dogs are welcome and the enclosed field nearby is perfect for exercise. Can't recommend this site highly enough.

Visited with my grandchildren and what fun they had in the play park. Bit disappointed the steam train wasn't running, but will take them back for the experience. This was our first time in the park, and it won't be the last. The grounds are really well maintained and no rubbish lying around. The toilets were spotless and the toilet block smelled really fresh. There are plenty of picnic tables, walks and a coffee shop. We didn't go in to the campsite but what we did see looked well maintained. Would definitely recommend for a day out.

This was our first stay at delamont - but it won't be our last. This is the camping and caravan club's only site in Northern Ireland, and it is extremely well run. The site is located within the grounds of the country park and is a lovely spot to spend a few days.

The campsite is very well maintained and equipped - shower facilities are free and with plenty of hot water. There are also ample sinks for washing up, laundry and washing facilities. Staff are friendly without being overbearing, but they do run a tight ship and keep the kids on bikes in check- this is no bad thing and ensures everyone has an enjoyable experience.

The proximity to the country park itself allows you to enjoy the many beautiful walks and its outdoor gym - lovely on a nice day and there is a steam train and coffee shop to enjoy along with a brilliant play park and picnic areas. Killyleagh and downpatrick are nearby for provisions.

All in all a great site that we will definitely visit again

We visited with our niece and nephew last week and are happily planning a camping visit next summer as they loved it so much. The play park is fantastic and there are lots of walks that we would love to explore on a longer visit. Good cafe and the little train is well cute. Loved that they have those metal things on the picnic tables that means you can have a disposable BBQ, all picnic benches should have these! Cannot wait to return:o) £4 entry to the car park is well worth it.
