Last year we took the 5 Senses tour of the bodega which was memorable. This year we were driving through the region and felt the urge for some Pago de Carraovejas wine so stopped here for a bite and sat near the bar with the stunning views toward Peñafiel castle and over the vines. I cannot believe that we only paid $9 for a decent pour of their crianza and reserva. We also enjoyed their cochinillo empanadas and eggplant and shrimp croquetas. Sublime times.

Thank Steve J

Thank you so much for your review Steve. This is the kind of review which motivates us to improve and work daily. The best thing that we could hear is that you kept the experience in Pago de Carraovejas in mind, one year after the date. Moreover, nowadays, we offer a new type of tasting of our wines without the tradicional visit. This wine tasting is perfect to people who have already visit the winery or have no time to visit it.

We are very glad you could enjoy the views and the gastronomic proposals. We are looking forward you seeing you back soon.
Thank you.

This restaurant exhibits all the necessary ingredients for a great dinner. A great location in the vineyards looking to Penafiel Castle and a sophisticated ambiance in the dining room, an outstanding Chef, Marina de la Hoz, and superbly training and very friendly staff. Congrats to all involved for an outstanding experience

What a great evening. We had a tour of the winery first which was very good. Drinks on the square terrace followed. Views fantastic.
The dinner was really great, the service excellent. In particular I thought the pork was good as a main. The sweet meats and associated theatre really good.
All the wines from in house first class.

This day began as a surprise. My wife have got a reservation for a full-sense journey which included a very nice day (she came the sun), a remembering of skin tact, a training of smell with grapes, wine cellar, oak casks, wines, and finally an orchestra of spectacular courses in Abivium.
I love her. She was the best of the day

First off, dining at Ambivium is an experience more than it is a place to get sustenance. So if you choose to go, plan to spend a few hours to enjoy the space, the service, and the food. If you just need a spot to grab lunch for an hour or so, look elsewhere.

I enjoy a "production" meal a few times a year, and Ambivium counts here.

What I enjoyed so much is how they've made this a modern yet classically Spanish experience. From the greeting cocktail that had a few drops of olive oil to bring together the ingredients to the "bienvenidos a nuestra casa" hospitality, Ambivium gets a solid high-five for taking the best of Spain and packaging it up with elegance to make it a veritable high-end dining experience that can easily compete on the international scene.

The views of vineyards are great, although it's a shame the bar partially blocks the view for the dining room.

While the degustación menu had 5-6 "stated" courses, we had plenty of surprises along the way. Kudos for creating a fine dining experience where I actually left feeling full, and not wanting a snack afterwards.

Wine pairings were great and generous.

Some of the notable dishes for me where the seabream and lentils (the fish was cooked *perfectly*), the morcilla, the squab, and the bone marrow (yes, I'm a carnivore of epic proportions).

I also appreciated how several dishes had the final preparation table side. It was entertaining, and it enabled more engagement with the staff (who were all very happy to provide additional detail about preparation methods, wine pairings, etc.).

Lastly, I spent a few minutes deciding between 4 or 5 stars. While a 4.5 is accurate, it's not an option. What pushed me to 5 stars was the staff. Everybody introduced themselves with their name, they were professional yet fun, and they worked with each other harmoniously and beautifully. Food is a critical part of a restaurant (obviously), but staff counts for a lot.

On future visits to Ribera del Duero, I will look forward to coming to Ambivium again.
