We last went here around 1991 then just come back now, 2018. Still the falls is there (of course) but you can't swim in the falls anymore as the water is muddy and soapy. At least the government preserved the place by renovating it, add tables, chairs and pool, still people can enjoy the place.

If you happen to be in Antipolo City, never miss to visit the city's pride, which is the Hinulugang Taktak. This has been renovated to be a tourist-friendly place with lots of parking spaces. It has an entrance though, but worth a visit. The falls is not clean but you can feel the authentic Antipolo vibe inside. There are picnic tents, swimming pool if you plan to stay long. Many tourist came here to have lunch every Sunday, so I suggest to go on Saturdays.

Pretty but will take about 20 minutes to see it. Not ment fo seniors as there a lot of stairs to climb. It is out of the way and transportation is hard to find

After visiting our relatives in Marikina. We decided to look for tourist spots in Travel advisor and we came up with Hinulugang Taktak. We visited the place znc the fee per head is only 50 pesos. It's nice because the surroundings are clean but the water from the falls has a mild odor. It's nice to take pictures and has countryside feels. Nice to have a picnic too. You can use the public pool just pay 50 bucks. 20 minutes away from Marikina.

We visited Antipolo Church and on our way back stopped at Hinulugang Taktak. The falls was beautiful because it rained and so the water was full. The park around it was ok but the bottom of the falls and the stream that flows had rubbish and all kind debris. It takes away from the majesty of the falls. Of course the smell of unclean water permeates the air.
Because they charge an entrance fee, it would do good to have clean-up of the water and education of residents to preserve the beauty of nature.
