This was a sad little museum in need of some creativity and a good dusting. Much of the taxidermy in the exhibits has lost its vitality. There is dust build up on the bugs. I read that someone spent a few hours at the museum.. and I wondered what they did? The earth portion needs updating to include the newest features - the solar cars seemed to be outdated models already. Many museums offer at least a couple of languages to the exhibits to attract and create interest for tourists, especially in cities whose economy is tourism based. We were disappointed that this was an activity we hoped to entertain our son who is 8. The people were nice though.

We sadly heard that the museum is going to shut down permanently. I hope is not true.. Offers a range of animal and bird spieces very well preserved and displayed. A lot to learn from the rocks in the lower floor. Perfect for a day out with children

A very interesting, even though relatively small, Natural History Museum but with huge contribution to the creation of environmental awareness in Greece. It will be something that small kids will enjoy and grown ups may use in order to either remind themselves of things that they may have forgotten or quite simply learn new things.
The fossil, plants, marine and animal displays will provide you with a wealth of information of interesting topics to discuss between children and/or adults.
The mineral displays are also a must.
Visiting the Gaia exhibition is also very interesting and can provide you with input so as to be more Earth friendly and environmentally conscious along with providing you with a nice opportunity to learn about more interesting place to visit in Greece, i.e. National Parks etc.

Do not miss the opportunity to have a look at the Museum's shop and allow the time for a coffee or a light snack, lunch or early dinner at the cafe and/or restaurant. The museum's garden where the cafe is located is an oasis especially during a warm Greek day or under the stars and the night's enjoyable breeze.

Helpful and cordial staff will also make your visit memorable.

We went for a few hours before lunch and had a great time. Our 3 year old had a great time and the animal displays particularly kept his interest. It is easy to find. Very reasonably priced and the exhibits are great.

Another visit to Goulandris museum…a must for me visit especially if you have along kids. (Check my previous review as well)

If you happen to be in the area, it should be counted as one of your ‘must see’ spots.
During spring or summer you can sit in the lush garden.
The Museum Café Restaurant is open in the morning with coffee and breakfast.
Highly recommended!
