Fantastic 5 star hotel in hambanthota. All the staff are very friendly. Specially kids club, Room service,bogunhala and all the bars. They all look after us wery well. And food was excellent. Beautiful room and lovely view.

We stayed in the most beautiful suite here - the entire hotel is absolutely breathtaking and well cared for. The pools are amazing and all of the staff very courteous and helpful - with one exception. At both dinner and breakfast in the half board restaurant, the service was a let down - we waited aaaaages for our drinks order to be taken at dinner and at breakfast we were never offered a cup of tea (it’s just hit and miss, some people were!) - so, all in all we’d totally recommend it - but suggest you have to ask for what you need at the restaurant, not wait to be served and be polite :)

Entering the hotel is really like coming to a world class property but alas that lasts just till the Porch. or lets say the Lobby. I shouldn't be biased as I did not stay in the hotel and we just drove in for a meal which to our surprise the restaurants on a sunday were closed except the ClubHouse at 1530 hrs!!. Such a vast amount of land and rooms on top of rooms!!
Anyway to come to the point the food was average or below. The bread was pure refined flour and service impersonal and dead slow. Guests smoking in the dining area?!!! Mustard made an entry when the sandwich was almost over and the tabasco never came.
A shame but great hotels are never made with brick and mortar...or Golf Courses.!

Thank you for taking the time to post a review here on TripAdvisor. At the outset please accept our sincere apology that we were unable to live us to the expectation that you have had in relation to the food and beverage offering at the resort. We do agree that a great hotel is not made with brick and mortar, as such we are looking into ways we can both improve our service offering and also the quality of food offered.

Our restaurants are opened 7/7 : Our All Day Dining restaurant Bojunhala is opened for Breakfast (06:30 to 10:30), Lunch (12:00 to 15:00) and dinner (18:00 to 22:00), our Club house Ulpatha from 10:00 to 23:00, Pool Bar is opened from 10:00 to 19:00, and our Lobby lounge from 12:00 to 24:00. Sera, Our Asian South Cuisine restaurant is only opened for dinner from 18:30 to 22:00.

We do hope you will give us the pleasure of welcoming you again and this time for a stay.

I have prepaid the room (8 nights) and NY's eve dinner 2 months in advance and paid all additional cost at check out. 4 weeks later the hotel charged my Credit Card by the entire amount again. Me and my travel agent called the hotel and sent emails every day for 2 weeks without any response. After 2 weeks the hotel answered that they will investigate. It took another 1-2 weeks. Then they finally admitted that they charged my CC unduly and they promised to refund it asap. Asap was another 7 days and I had to pay for the currency conversion. Very frustrating and unfair treatment. Is it really a five star hotel???

We had a wonderful and relaxing time. The view of the ocean and the beach was stunning. We did a safari tour that was really superb (they provided a box breakfast).The food was varied and delicious and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Everything was very positive for us.
