Excellent stay with friends. Beautiful home and location. All the added extras of a home away from home, with family style dining, BBQ and cosyblog fire.
Hosts accomodating and stay was suitable for babies.
Lovely local walks, inspired by reading material provided at the house.
Would recommend to large groups and will be coming back again!
This is a gorgeous, traditional Cotswold cottage which can sleep up to 11 people and up to 2 dogs. The cottage definitely has the wow factor and my family loved it! Annabel, the owner, even had bread baking in the bread maker for when we arrived! There is plenty crockery, cutlery and general kitchen utensils. There are 2 ensuite rooms and a large family bathroom with separate free-standing bath and shower. There are many features to like in Barnsley Cottage which is run by Character Cottages. There is a log fire in the lounge with a supply of logs and, outside, for better weather, there is a barbecue in the garden. It. truly is a well appointed cottage with heaps of character in its nooks and crannies. Furthermore, just cross the road to The Village Pub for great food, lovely bar and cosy atmosphere with log fires. Practically next door to the cottage is Barnsley House with formal dining and spa. What's not to like?
We were 3 families with altogether 8 people. We really enjoyed this lovely cottage. It is a very beautiful cotswold styled stony cottage. The decoration is sweet, relaxing and cosy, with big kitchen and dining area, spacious living room and drawing room. The garden is also beautiful. We would definitely like to come back again.
Great cottage, actually much nicer than the pictures as it's very spacious and comfy. the garden is also amazing. the kitchen is fully equipped with a bbq outside. We got lucky with the weather and got a chance to visit the lovely area.
From the moment we arrived we felt at home. The cottage is deceptively big inside and great for families with the separate snug for the kids. The bedrooms are all a good size and the decor is lovely and full of character. The garden is wonderful with so much space for garden games and kids (and dogs!) to run around. The village is small but so pretty and The Village Pub a 2 minute walk, great for an evening meal. The owner was friendly, helpful and relaxed and we all agreed this was the best place we have stayed for our annual family trip. We would not hesitate to visit again!
Such a lovely holiday home, we stayed as a family and had a fantastic weekend.
The location is great, near all the beauty spots for shopping and sight seeing and literally across the road from a fantastic pub, perfect for a lazy Sunday lunch!
Two of the rooms are inter connected, I don't think I read this properly before booking! it worked out ok but you do have to walk through one bedroom to get to another on the top floor.
Other than that it's a perfect charming little house, highly recommend it!
