“Good Value!”
Reviewed November 8, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We are glad we found this place!
The apartment is excellent and well equipped and furnished with elegance and taste. The view from the terrace is exrtraordinary and leave nothing to wish. The palace is enchanting and a visit to Piano Nobile is a must. The host is happy to show around and tell the story. Our host Mr.Poletini, is a genuine gentleman, helpful and conciderate.
We warmly recommend this genuine place and apartment!

“The best place we have stayed”
Reviewed September 26, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

The best place we have ever stayed. A wonderful apartment beautifully restored in this ancient Palazzo. Spectacular 360 degree views. A glorious sunny terrace for dining and relaxing. Quiet and wonderfully peaceful in a small village with two bars, a restaurant and a general store and a bread shop. Monte San Martino is ideally placed for exploring the lovely Marche area. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with warmth and kindness. We Loved staying here and hope to return.

Jane and Marc, have arrived as guests, with curiosity for Palazzo Urbani, with the interest in the restoration, for sites, discovering the Marche. Polite and reserved. The sweetness of Jane. I think, i hope they are left as friends. Goodbye and thank you for everything.

“Best accommodation in Italy ever”
Reviewed July 19, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Ours was the most amazing arrival in many years of renting apartments and cottages in Italy. After parking right next to the huge medieval palazzo we entered the hallway and the owner opened the gate to the upper floors. The perfectly restored, extremely broad stairs made us feel like a royal couple striding into their premises. A large statue of goddess Athena welcomes you after the first flight. Quite a few more to come, but the friendly owner carried the heaviest suitcases for us and we didn’t mind at all going back a few times for our numerous bags with food, wine and oil for the weekend. Another surprise awaited us when the doors to the apartment were opened for us: such enormous space, all light and airy, windows everywhere and beautifull, next to new furniture in the salotto and the dining room. Then: the first glance of the views that may well be the most attractive asset of this home. From the terrace on the piazza, the church and it’s tower, the town and it’s alleys, the valley towards the sea, the hills on the opposite site and (in the back) towards the Sibillini Mountains. These kept surprising us for the entire week to come, changing with the hours and the weather: even bad weather with racing dark clouds that provided a background worth a renaissance painting.
Then the apartment proved to include everything we could wish for, with it’s roomy and well provided kitchen, light and large bedrooms, brand new bathrooms, etc. And all of it shiny clean. It’s quite incredible, the love, the work (and the money!) the owner must have invested in this mega-project!
Weather allowing, the terrace is the place to spend most of the time at home, for sun bathing, reading and dining, enjoying those views endlessly.
But of course we spend time in the surroundings as well, Monte San Martino offering a wonderful location in this part of the Marche. You’ve got the lovely, clean and well equipped beaches on less than an hour driving. Some beach restaurants offer top seafood at very affordableprices. There are many interesting towns worth a visit within equal distance, like Fermo, Ascoli Piceno, Amandola, Montalto, Ripatransone and Macerata. Less known villages and hill towns each are worth a stroll for an hour or so. It’s also lovely walking country in the nearby valley and it’s surrounding hills, or for more ambitious hiking in the Sibillini. One week is hardly enough even though we had been in the area several times before.
We rate the Palazzo Urbani as the best accommodation we have ever stayed in (at an amazing reasonable rate!) and will certainly be back some time.
Grazie mille Pierino, not in the least for recuperating and returning the drivers licence I unfortunately left behind in Amandola!

“No reservations, make a reservation!!!”
Reviewed July 10, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Palazzo Urbani is a spacious, beautifully appointed apartment with magnificent views over the surrounding countryside. It is very relaxing to sit on the spacious balcony and watch the village life in the square below where there are: a church, a small but well stocked grocery, a bar/restaurant and a florist.
In addition to being a most welcoming and helpful host, Pierino also found the time to explain about the history of the Palazzo and the restoration that he is still undertaking in meticulous detail.
The palazzo is well situated to explore the area. We enjoyed visits to various towns and found the walks in the Sibiline mountains well signposted.

Mr. Graham,
thanks for everything. I am happy that you and your friends will be enjoyed at Palazzo Urbani. The aim ideal for this historic home is to meet people of the world as guests to discover the art, culture and traditions of the best Italian. Guests, not paying tourists. But this is not yet possible. The restorations to which you refer are long and expensive though exciting and that is why I thank you even more for your presence. You also have contributed to the recovery of a building of 1459. Thanks and you are always welcome.
Best regards.

“Floating in the clouds”
Reviewed January 31, 2015 for a stay in October 2014

We had a very memorable 8 days in Palazzo Urbani. If the view didn't take your breath away, the beautifully appointed apartment was amazing. All you could ask for was at your fingertips with regards to everything from the kitchen fit for a chef to the beautifully elegant dining room to enjoy ones culinary achievements! The comfortable bedrooms with the décor in each of the three bedrooms pleasing to the eye. All the furniture was well chosen, at no time did you think something was added because they had no better place in which to place it! The bathroom, in fact all the rooms were perfectly clean. Our balcony was a delight, we'd sit and sip a glass of red at the end of the day and take in the every changing mountain views. If all the above wasn't enough to make your holiday perfect, our landlord, Pierrino was there to attend to any requests immediately, always very helpful and friendly.
