Cafe Olsen is located within the Residenza del Sole hotel/apartment complex and operates the breakfast, bar and restaurant. While there is nothing specifically wrong with it, it lacks any of the generosity or attention to detail that most of the other restaurants in Gressoney have. Breakfast (included in the price of the hotel) was a simple buffet table, which frequently ran out of basics like fruit juice, bottled water and eggs.
Dinner was fast and service was reasonable, but anything beyond the pizza menu was not very appetizing. The Zuppa Valdostana used the earlier morning's industrial sliced bread, two cabbage leaves and a melted slice of cheese. Not quite as the Val D' Aosta intended. The mixed grill of meat was generous but uninspiring.
A pity, because the other restaurants we visited in the town were exceptionally good.
