Well this was different. Tour buses cannot drive down to the hotel, so they stop up top and one has to walk through a tunnel to get to the hotel. Luggage was collected in a small bus! Air conditioner worked. Balcony was nice for drying washing and for enjoying sunsets! Supper was not very exciting and cold food. Breakfast basic but OK. Wifi was only available in reception which was a bit irritating. Rooms were a good size. Easy to catch a ferry to Capri - which was lovely. The hotel is a lovely setting, has a lovely protected beach and we enjoyed being there.

Room Tip: Rooms with a view and balcony are good

From checking out the reviews and pictures it was like I stayed somewhere completely different!
The room was small but fine and only one plug socket so we could either have the fridge or charge a phone.
The room was very dated so seeing the pictures on here of modern clean bathrooms is a bit gutting.
Our shower had a plastic folding door that didnt work so it flooded the bathroom, inside the shower was covered in black mold.
The air con didnt work so it was boiling at night. We did have a very small window but as soon as you opened it the mosquitoes took their chance, so we just had to stay in a stuffy room.
The commute through the tunnel was dangerous as there are blind corners and drivers are fast and dont really stick to a side of the road.
Like I say a real disappointment

I am with a group of 40 people visiting rome and sorrento area with newmarket holidays. The problems occur firstly because they created this group that is unmanageable by the guides employed because the clients are of different ages, mainly old with health issues.the guide managed to lose eight in pompeii today , consequently the far too short 2 hours due to poor planning meant that major attractions could not be seen.
Then there is the problem of my first room which is not fit for humans and this one which i eventually got is adjacent to a blind dend...honking horns..
There is only one power point in the room and i have had to rearrange the furniture all except the wardrobe so as to plug in my CPAP machine that treats my slerp apnoea.
Basically the base cause of the problem is that newmarket have consolidated five or six or more holiday start dates by arbritarily picking one date for all two months clients to go at the same time so as to make more profit.
Regrettably i have booked a tour of india with them this september...cause for concern indeed

We all had a fabulous time and would go back!

Hotel: lovely staff except for the waiters – will come to this later.
Rooms are nothing like the pictures. Typical low cost rooms, very small for four people. They refused to give the pupils the remote for the TV and air conditioning and they got very hot. cruel really. The tunnel to the hotel is a dangerous walk - this was the worst part of the holiday.

Rooms cleaned daily and beds comfortable – bunk beds not very safe really. The male teacher had a couch to sleep on. His head and feet went over the edge! However windows had no blinds – everyone could see if you were on the loo!!!

No safes in the room but they are more than willing to mind passports in reception. They also put the match on for us.

Food great but repetitive, no choice you get what you are given. Starters were ravioli, penne, gnocchi with the same tomato sauce. Main were pork/veal and chips. Dessert was icecream/fruit/ tiramisu. No complaints it was nice.

The waiter knocked a glass of water over, no problem it was an accident. Then one of the pupils knocked a glass of water over on the table. Well the same waiter went MAD. The manager said we weren’t allowed to have anymore drinks for the rest of our stay. They backed down when one of our pupils spoken fluent Italian but it did get very heated. A total over reaction when both times were an accident. The next night they move the staff table closer to the view – so we took that as an apology.

Breakfast was croissants, meat, cheese and eggs.

There is nothing in the local town. There is one shop which was very basic. Sorrento is 30 minutes away as traffic gets busy. But of a night we had the bar outside to ourselves. This meant we could sit and watch the pupils play on the beach. They really enjoyed this. They had the freedom to buy their own drinks and snacks from inside and the waitress was lovely. She said our pupils were very well behaved – which they were.

We tried to go to two more bars which were on the beach but they said they had a private party on. There was another school there but we couldn’t figure out where they went of a night. We never saw them except for the evening meal!

Packed lunches were great too. Two barms – one cheese, one meat, peach juice, water and a cake.

All trips were fab – Pompeii was really interesting and the pupils hung on to every word that Nina was saying. Gelato – good host there and the pupils can’t wait to make the gelato at home. They were very welcoming.

Sorrento was beautiful, lots of shops for the pupils. Next time i would allow enough time to get the train around the city.
Ferry to Capri was rougher than i thought ha ha. The pupils preferred anticapri as they thought the main part was too busy. We couldn’t find anywhere to take them for a drink and a snack. We ended up sitting on a wall which was fine. We found the port cheaper and eventually found somewhere before the ferry across.

Alexia cooking school was amazing – really welcoming however we walked passed it and surprised an 80+ year old when we trekked up the hill to her house ha ha/ Luckily David explained that we were lost and she laughed!! That hill was horrific ha.

We had a long time to fill the morning we went home – but the kids were happy sunbathing on the beach

Room Tip: avoid 318 very small and air conditioning doesn't work. 303 has a balcony and great view

I can't believe the reviews I've just read about this being a terrible hotel. I just spent 4 nights here and it was lovley. Very modern very clean. Friendly staff, especially the little girl on the bar downstairs. Amazing views over the sea which meant beautiful sunsets at night. There was a remote for the tv which was handed to you with your key when checking in. There were 4 plug points and the shower didn't leak onto the floor. We must have been in a better room. The only bad thing I would complain about was the towels if you can all them that. They were more like cotton table cloths, no pile on them whatsoever. Oh and the noisy residents who scrape furniture a cross the floor and shouting on the corridors when others re trying to sleep. The floors are all tiled and not carpeted.
