We were on our first visit to Dorset ,after a long drive from Wales we called in to the ship inn last Friday night !
It was very busy but they were very welcoming and explained that we might have to wait 20 / 30 minutes .we had a drink first then we're taken into the restaurant we had a lovely crab salad with chips and a glass of wine
The staff were very attentive and welcoming
We went back a couple of times just for a evening drink and found the bar staff very friendly would recommend this pub.

We don't live far from The Old Ship Inn, by car, but walking over the fields so that we could both have a drink made for a thirsty arrival.

This was our first visit to the pub and won't be the last. I ordered steak and chips. I like mine blue and that's exactly what chef delivered which makes a pleasant change.

Very enjoyable meal. Great beer.

We noticed it got more and more busy as the evening went on so my tip is to go earlier.

We stopped here for Friday lunch to check the place out, for food and seating in the restaurant for a family celebration meal for Saturday evening. We had a large bowl of mussels for lunch, very good and enquired about table available for Saturday evening when Music was scheduled. This worried me because I am not a fan of loud music, but we found a table for 7 around the corner in the restaurant, quite private great.
The management were very helpful. The dinner menu is varied and reasonably priced and to a good standard.
The family really enjoyed it, the bar area was full creating a good atmosphere.
We would certainly go again if in the area.
