I had a lovely stay at Locanda Tanarizzi run by Rosemarie Tasca in late May. It is easy to find with a GPS into the nearby town. I found the inn by asking one of the local folks in town of it's location just as Rosemarie suggested. She gave us excellent suggestions on which roads to take, which helped a great deal as it was my first time driving in Sicily, although not my first trip to SIcily. A big highlight was the wonderful dinner prepared by her staff - at least 5 courses with excellent wine from Regaleali - family owned winery nearby. Enjoying the exquisite food and looking out on the countryside from the dining room made is one of those memorable occasions I'll cherish and do hope to repeat. The guest rooms are quite large and cheerful. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us and make us comfortable. A friendly place to spend a few nights for relaxation and fantastic food.

We had been driving through the rain for a few hours when we arrived at Rosemarie's property to a warm welcome and a blazing fire. We were shown our room which was just off the living room. We were the only guests during our stay so we felt as if we had our own villa. Rosemarie's staff cooked us a fabulous four course dinner including wine. We were served in the loft area which was very cozy. The bed was adequate, but harder than I am used to.
We woke to a heavy rain but we could still appreciate the magnificent view from the large picture windows in the breakfast room. We were served a great breakfast which included local fresh ricotta cheese, homemade jam and honey.
Due to the inclement weather, Rosemarie persuaded us to stay close to the villa and just relax. We followed her advice and had a peaceful, relaxing day, followed by another delicious homemade dinner. Perfect o!
Thank you to Rosemarie and her wonderful, staff. We hope to visit again!

We stayed for one night and the room was very nice and functional. This would have been one of the best b&b experiences if the central heating would have been on, now it was slightly too cold for us, especially in the bathroom.

We arrived rather late and did not have time for wine tasting at Tasca d'Almerita's estate but Rosemarie was kind enough to arrange us a bottle of 2003 Cabernet, which was definitely the best wine experience during our trip to Sicily.

Also the food at Locanda Tanarizzi was very good, all made of local ingredients. I really would recommend eating there, especially if you can pair the dinner with 2003 Cabernet:)

Rosemarie is a lovely hostess, who arranged to pick us up in Palermo for our 2 day visit to the coutryside - this was a beautiful eperience-staff could not do enough for you. Quiet, relaxing location to kick back and relax. We enjoyed a winery tour at their family winery Tasca D;alamerita and also a cooking course that was taught by Rosemarie's niece, Fabbrizzia Lanza-2 wonerrful experiences all provided on the great Regaleali Estate.
Each day we would come home to have a swim in the pool and enjoy homemade cooking prepared by the staff- a taste of heaven each night- thoroghly enjoyable - a definite return visit !!!

Where do I start??
Rosemarie was unable to be there during our stay. However, we were extremely warmly welcomed as if we were their extended family. The location is slightly out of the way from the nearest Autostrada (circa 15 minutes). However, once we arrived in this little gem of a place in the heart of Sicily, we did not look back.

The rooms are beautifully decorated in various motifs. They are spacious and clean. For me the only shock was that there is no TV in the room. However, we came to simply relax and get away from it all...... so we did not miss the TV in the room. There is one in the lounge ... so not all was lost!! In 5 days we neer watched TV .... so much for my initial shock.

Breakfast was delicious, abundant with local fresh produce and enough to keep you going for a good part of the day ........ at least until lunchtime.

Upon our return from our nearby excursions .... we ate there 4 out of 5 nights.
We really ate extremely well and experienced different kinds of meat every evening, be it chicken, rabbit, fish and their famous local panini with "milsa". We did not have time to have the lamb .... but that is for next time. During our meals we were given wine from the world renowned Regaleali winery. Meals were always a 5 course affair with antipasti, primo, secondo, frutta and dessert to round off each evening. Cost of meals are extra, but certainly within very easy reach of everyone's pocket.

The facilities are in line with relaxation in its simplest form. This is a rural area of Sicily.
So one can enjoy the terrace and the pool. Furthermore, the surrounding area is excellent for walking, especially early in the morning where one can listen to the chirping of birds, the local train passing by and farmers tilling the fields nearby.

If it is peace and quite and tranquility that you are after...... then this is the place for you.

Finally, it is a great base to start touring central Sicily.

We should be heading back there soon, but with more of the family tagging along!!

Room tip: Rooms have no TV, safe deposit box or minibar - if you realy want to switch off .... you do not need them
