This is the best restaurant in the area, and one of the best I have ever visited. From the appetizers to the desserts, you will not be disappointed. You cannot skip the appetizers and the pasta dishes, all hand made, and decorated with flowers. The setting is also very nice, by a little stream. The host, Dodi, is a real character! The prices are in line with the quality of the food and the area, so cheap by American standards. There are only two negative things I can think of: one, being by a stream, there are mosquitoes (and indoor tables are not an option in the summer); two, most Italian restaurants still allow smoking in the outdoor sections, even if they are sort of enclosed, which bothers me very much. Especially in this type of restaurant, where flavors are so intense, a table of heavy smokers next to yours can ruin your experience. I really wish Italy would change that.

Just outside the city walls, down a very steep drive, in a lovely garden.
We came for lunch and has the antipasto course - a spectacular array of soups, meats, veggies and sweets, most from her garden and garnished with edible flowers from the yard. No need for anything else.
Donatella was wonderful, showing off the garden and explaining the ingredients.
We ate outside under the trees.
After the meal we were offered the use of the folding lawn chairs so we could take our riposo (siesta) in the garden. So sad we could not stay!
Don't miss this.

It is located on the river bank, below the old town walls, and must be approached down a short but steep path. The setting is lovely and the attention to detail is exceptional : tables, chairs, plates, glasses, linen, lights - all are individualistic and lovingly chosen. The food reflects the same care. Don't miss the antipasti, where you will be served several small delicacies, followed by an extraordinarily beautiful salad with wafer thin slivers of truffle, cheese, fruits, flowers and leaves. I had a pasta dish to follow and my partner had pork, both of which were very good. The house wines, both red and white, were excellent and not expensive. In saying how lovely both the place itself and the food are, I don't wish to imply that there's anything precious or pretentious here - not at all. It just offers an unusually creative and pleasurable eating experience that is reasonably priced and distinctly memorable.

We had a series of starters as well as a pasta course and desserts and a lovely wine. Everything was delicious and some of the combinations of ingredients were very welcome surprises.

At just over €100 for 3 people, we left feeling pleasantly stuffed and impressed at the quality of food and portion sizes.

Not at all overpriced or overly fancy, and wonderful friendly service in a beautiful location too.

We agreed that it was probably the best restaurant we've ever visited.

Just make sure that you bring cash with you as cards are not accepted.

Thank Tomric S
