We were a big group of 13 people (including kids 0-12 yrs old).
Rooms closest to the restaurant are very nice. Lots of space and light and a beautiful view. The natural pool is very cold so we only used it twice. The fish therapy in the river (so wild fish scrub your feet) is fun and kids loved jumping the rocks over the water. All staff are male so be prepared if you book a massage (it was a nice massage though). Food in the restaurant is ok, curry and chicken with mushroom are the best dishes, stay away from the Tom yum soup.
Staff was lovely, polite and very helpful. We did a trip to the local waterfall which was nice and had a swim in the water. Ella is 3 hours by bus one way and not worth it. It’s way to touristic and the waterfall too crowded.
Disappointed mainly by head office that manage the email communication before arriving. Received a couple of not so professional emails from them. For example:
I wanted to book a train ride and by their own recommendation reminded them 3 months in advance. I received s rude email that it was impossible to book for such a large group and that I was asking them the same question twice.
However, the local staff is wonderful. All in all A nice retreat for a quiet stay but don’t expect 5star.More
