Great site, with well laid out pitches, all (except rally field) of which are hard standing. The toilet block was clean, warm and well looked after. The games room is well kitted out with books, DVDs, puzzles, pool table, table tennis table and of course the skittle alley.

The park is very quiet and is out the way a bit. We attempted the walk to the Churchill Arms but went wrong somewhere and ended up back tracking along the old train track!

Definitely worth a visit if you want a very quiet weekend.

Wonderful campsite! we booked last minute, weather was awful, but we still had fun regardless. All staff were very freindly and couldnt do enough to help with a few newbie camping teething problems. shower block and toilets immaculately clean and well equipped. Short walk through the woods to the Churchill Arms Pub in the village, also well worth a visit. Pub doesnt look much from the outside but warm and friendly inside with excellent food. We've already rebooked at Hill Cottage.

We booked about 10 days prior to arriving , the lady on the phone was very helpful and friendly
On arrival in the reception / shop we found the lady again to be very cheery and friendly - on arrival there is a sign that says stop car here if on a grass pitch
Unlike us do stop there if not sure as it's easier than turning your caravan round
We had booked a grass pitch for our caravan and found this easily on the site although the man did come to help us position our van ( he didn't come across as rude as per the other reviews but more uncomfortable talking to strangers )

We were in the next field along which has the park in it - it's a good park
There is a loo block and washing up area in this field along with chemical waste , rubbish bins ( recycling and glass bins ) and taps the showers are in the same area as the reception a 2 min walk away
Both loo block and showers were clean and there are 4 hair dryers in the shower block and 4 showers
The showers are on a timer you get about 50 seconds per press this seems longer when you are under the water
I didn't ask if there was a laundry room as didn't need it so no idea if they have one
The games room is fab
It has table tennis , table football , pool , a toddlers tent and crawl tube.
loads Of sofas and tables and lots of jigsaws and board games to keep you busy ( if anyone wants to finish my jigsaw of the red mini feel free It had me stumped )
The other half of the games room has a skittle alley and we would loved to have paid to play for an hr but you have to hire the room and you get the skittles as part of the hiring
This was a Shame as we would have paid to play a few times

There is a marked walk around the site for dog walking ( behind the play park ) this is a pleasant walk around the field and fishing lakes but only takes about 20 mins so it's ok for a quick dogs walk but go further afield if you want to wear the dog out
There is a sign that directs you to the village - also behind the park
This was only about 10 mins away and has a co op a second hand shop and a pub the pub does a Sunday carvery

On our first morning we popped along to reception and placed our order for croissants these are made to order and take 20 mins and are only 80p each - lovely

Good points - lovely site , flat pitches cheerful helpful lady in reception , freshly baked bread and croissants, quiet and pretty site with clean loo / shower blocks , nice play park ( no balls games area ) fab games room , not too spread out so the showers and loos are close by
You can pay to stay later than the check out time if your pitch is free ( I'm sorry we totally forgot to pop back with the £5)
Along the walk there are signs that give you facts about the wildlife in the trees etc

Bad points - the shop doesn't really stock much - it's a fridge and a shelving rack but co op is 10 mins away
We would have loved to have used our fire pit so that we could have sat out reading instead of going in at 5 ish as it was cold
4 showers might cause queues in the busier periods

Would we go again ??
Yes we will do and now we owe them £5 we had better not leave it too long
