We stayed in Green Verde, as all other accommodation was booked out. Upon arrival late at night I was very disappointed - the room was very humid (fan only) and it was that typical backpacker hostel set-up of shower right next to/above toilet - no chance of feeling refreshed after a long trip over. The host kindly offered us a free standing bungalow and whilst this was very kind, it didn't change the feeling of the shower/toilet, however in the morning the world changed. The family running this little place is wonderful, very caring and helpful. They must have the best groomed garden and the beautiful little restaurant right on the beach serves a limited, yet very tasty range of dishes. On a stormy day there is little chance for a swim due to strong currents, however you can stand in the water and paddle around; and it is a little frustrating to be located right next to a real resort with a large pool. However, the Sheridan is sterile and Green Verde is local, so it was quite special sharing it with the little family - all of which were helping out to make it as clean and comfortable as possible. Sunset cocktails at the Sheridan for Happy Hour can only be recommended and if you happen to be at Sabang beach for a full moon, you will get those perfect paradise photographs at night.
Last but not least, we did like that it was located right next to the actual town, you could leave the beach and meander along houses and chat to locals.
Waiting for the ride to the underground cave requires some patience, but time passes quickly as there is plenty of opportunity to observe the buzzing plaza from where boats take off.
Overall, can only recommend Sabang beach - our first choice would have been Duyong Hotel, however we still enjoyed our stay. Thank you to the hosts!
