We came here for our first trip to Tokyo and stayed here for 10 nights. Wanting something affordable we chose Villa Fontaine at Otemachi for the good price and good location. The hotel chain is impressive overall with really nice designs.

PROS
- Located at an area with little tourist activity so it's quieter and less crazy than say, Shibuya
- 10-15 minutes walk from Kanda JR Station on the Yamanote Line (just one stop away from Tokyo, one of the main interchange), on the way you can eat at some of the local eateries - affordable and always yummy
- Because it's near Tokyo Station, it was cheap to pay for a taxi to get us to the station
- Lovely little room
- Free LAN internet access so bring your own laptop and cable (but they are ok to lend you one)
- Friendly and helpful English-speaking service staff
- Simple buffet breakfast consisting of salad, toast and coffee/tea
- Bathroom with all the amenities like a small bathtub, heated toilet seats and everything works well
- Free use of bedroom slippers and bathrobe
- Tasteful, trendy decor

CONS
- Small wardrobe space (but if you are here for business you are not supposed to be bringing giant luggages like we did, right?)
- Tiny walkway (please refer to point above)
- Far from the shopping district = pay more for transport = you weigh your own choice

---

I love Tokyo and enjoyed my stay at Villa Fontaine Otemachi (book from their website - they have good rates) but perhaps would choose one of their more downtown hotels for better accessibility.

Room Tip: Pick one facing the main road, on a high floor!

We stayed in this hotel in our last 2 night in Japan back in April 2009 for our honey moon. Very clean, nice breakfast, friendly staff. The hotel is very close to the metro and the train station. Nearby there's a road full of restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

First experience of a Japanese hotel. This was easy to find and not too far from the station. The room was very modern and cozy. Staff were great and the price was right. There are a few streets nearby with plenty of restaurants plus there's a convenience store right next door.

Central location within walking distance to several metro stations. Rooms very small but very clean and comfortable. The western/japanese breakfast was simple but a nice addition. Great value for the money.

The best feature about this hotel is it's location. 5 mins walk from Kanda Station (both Metro subway and JR train) and 15 mins from Tokyo Station. Right across the main road is a "walking street" with lots of restaurants/cafes so food is never a problem. Right next door is a convenience store. On our last day, we walked towards Tokyo station and had lunch there before proceeding to the Imperial garden. One station away from Kanda is Akihibara - the electric town. Rooms are smallish but not as small as Sutton Hotel in Ueno. Design of Sutton is better though - more modern contemporary then VF Otemachi. But for the special weekend price of JPY8900 per night, it is of very good value. Rooms are clean and comfortable - not too cramp, just cozy. An array of free English movie selection available and free internet. Front desk is helpful. Overall, a great value for money hotel indeed!
