Pleasant stay. Plenty of choice for breakfast English or Japanese. Decent sized room with all the bathing/hair requirements.

Worth remembering you can’t book into your room until 3pm so if you have an early morning landing into Tokyo book an extra night from the day before.

Stayed 7 nights over a two week period in between travels. Overall the Niwa is a lovely, boutique style hotel. Welcoming and calming entrance. Staff is friendly once you speak with them, otherwise they do keep to themselves. Very helpful as well with directions, ideas and minor issues. Personally had no complaints or problems. I'm sure based on some of the other reviews that it is all about communicating correctly. Google is a good translator when needed though the staff did speak English well which is the best form of communication if you don't speak Japanese.
The two different rooms I stayed in were spacious for Japan. The larger of the rooms had a beautiful luxurious bathroom. Quite large with a separate shower and tub with a view. Beds are super comfortable. Slept well which is not always the case for me in hotels.
Rooms are very clean as well as the bathrooms. Well stocked from tea/ coffee to bathroom necessities. Depending on the floor and room, there are great city views to be had.
Location wise it was just a 4-5 minute walk to Sudobashi station which I used as my main station though used the two other stations as well which were about 10-12 minutes away.
Breakfast was wonderful. It's a one price meal, so I would not suggest it if that is not appealing to you.
Had dinner as well. Pricey for some people possibly. Will say the food and service was very good.
Five star hotel for it's really wonderful...but I like to be fair for it's not a super high end luxury hotel which has over the top service and amenities. But it doesn't need to and thankfully is not. The Niwa perfectly gives you what you need at a very reasonable price. Great as a business hotel. Great for travelers who want a quiet location and not be in the hub of Shinjuku / Ginza or the like.
It was wonderful to come back to the Niwa at the end of long days and relax.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms offer nice city views.

What a great find this hotel was. The staff are courteous, professional and helpful. The hotel is in a quiet location but it is close to plenty of restaurants and transport. The room itself was very comfortable and extremely quiet, the quietest hotel we have stayed in during our travels. While it was close to the railway line, passing trains were barely noticeable. The room was not large but this is Tokyo. The free internet was excellent.

The hotel provides a smart phone which is extremely useful for navigating. Calls to certain countries are free too.

Hotel Niwa is a great hotel and we will definitely stay here again when we return to Tokyo.

Nice and clean, we stayed for 7 nights. The staff was always very helpful and attentive. Very good location for moving around Tokyo. Excellent breakfast. Amazing traditional Japanese dinner. Very useful massage chair - located on the 3 floor after busy day of exploring Tokyo.
