This was the week of back to back steakhouses- rappongi- tokyo/american club-now RC. First off, this had the feel of Americana- dark wood, lights turned down, English spoken throughout- but with Japanese flair and Japanese service (yeah!). Menu very Japanese inlcuding a set that was a 'relative' value. Mind you everything in Tokyo is expensive compared, but within Tokyo- this would be right in line with top tier steaks/pricing. Wine list was very good for Japan - yes! My wife and I chose the set that was quite comprehensive- start with an amazing seared ahi tuna- sushi grade--absolutely perfecto. Followed by one of the best salads (chopped salad) I've had anywhere in tokyo! then the main course, steak baby- my wife had wagyu filet which was unreal, I had the American filet, flawless, and both cooked absolutely perfectly on the RC sizzling hot plates- yum. Chose spinach and asparagus-wow and fresh. Finished meal with coffe/tea and the dessert was a perfectly sized small cheesecake with fruits. Yum. Serving was amazing with one main server and lots of helpers that all were on their A game. GM was all over it, and thanked us for coming. I really liked him.
