“a great little find”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 September 2011

We extended our stay here a couple of times as it was a nice and friendly hotel!
It is slightly away from the main tourist area of Akasaka and on top of the hill (so with suitcases you probably want to consider getting a taxi). The rooms were good for sleep they had nice beds (but a little bit on the hard side) and very effective blinds but the rooms were very small, hard to fit 2 suitcases and several bags around it, also, there was no wardrobe, just a couple of hooks. The design is quirky and so the shower and toilet is only separated from the bedroom by a frosted glass wall. There are a lot of nice touches, including free coffee in the foyer, internet in the room, decent vending machines and good laundry facility. Akasaka and Tokyo Midtown are nice areas with lots of food options but they tend to be at the bottom of the hill however there is a decent pizzeria within the hotel. The staff who spoke some English were always helpful and smiling and made you feel very welcome. The main thing to remember though is that it is on top of the hill – the main route from the subway station is 5mins up a steep hill from the Tokyo metro (Akasaka station) but a 10 minute gentler walk in the opposite direction to Akasaka Mitsuke. Enjoy!

medium size hotel, rooms are very small, but perfectly clean and new. Staff speaks english and vey kind. Breakfast could be improved especially the continental breakfast selection. B hotel is located 5 minutes walk from akasaka subway, although it is a steep walk to get back from the subway to the hotel. The price is very good, I would definateely reccomend.

I stayed here for my last 2 nights in Tokyo at the end of a 3 week holiday in Japan. The room was clean and the staff friendly. The breakfast was adequate although the wifi in the lobby was painfully slow.
The hotel is relatively close to Akasaka subway station. If you have a heavy suitcase do not take exit 3b from the subway station as there are a lot of steps to climb once you have exited the station and walking around the Tokyo Broadcasting Studioes. Exit 7 might be a better option.
I would recommend this hotel if all you want the room for is to sleep in at the end of a long day taking in the sites of Tokyo. It is simple, small and good value.

Dear the_thorne,

Thank you for staying the b akasaka and we appreciate you taking the time to share your comments on the hotel. About location, If you have a heavy suitcase, it would be better take exit 3a, not 3b and 7. Because there is an escalator and it takes about 5 min from akasaka station to our hotel. We are sorry that you had a problem with the wifi in lobby. We will improve that situation immediately.
We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcome you back.
Kind regards.

Stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. What an amazing find! The hotel is conveniently located, in a quiet area and is less than 5mins from the Tokyo metro (Akasaka station) a 10 minute walk to Tokyo midtown and 10 minute walk in opposite direction to Akasaka Mitsuke where restaurants and bars abound. The staff speak English and were most helpful in providing us directions and even assisted us with restaurant reservations.

Rooms are small, compact, clean and tastefully furnished with simple clean lines giving a modern contemporary feel. There is a fridge in the room which is convenient for storing drinks as the convenience store is located some 5 mins away.

The free WiFi in the foyer is a nice touch, as is the coffee machine. There are also laundry facilities in the hotel which is very convenient for longer stays.

We elected to have breakfast in the hotel. This was a simple affair with a mixture of Japanese and western dishes. Again the service was excellent.

This hotel is excellent value for money with exceptional service. The courteous and polite staff really go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable and memorable. We look forward to staying at The B Akasaka again when we next visit Tokyo.

Room Tip: We booked directly through the hotel's website

Everything about the B Akasaka screams quality from the moment you walk through the door. The staff is extremely polite and efficient, and eveything from check-in to check-out was done with ease. The rooms are small, but very clean and modern. Though be warned, there's a lot of see through glass windows and door to separate the bathroom from the rest of the room ( you can literally watch Tv while taking a shower), so be sure you're on good terms with whoever you're rooming with.

Overall, the location of the hotel is good, though it may seem a little confusing at first since it is right next to a TV station. But there is a subway stop not far from it.

I stayed for a few nights with a friend.

Facilities: There was a health spa on site, but we didn't use it. Breakfast buffet inc in price was quite good. The free coffee and wifi in the lobby was a nice touch. Staff were very welcoming.

Rooms: Very clean. On the small side, bathrooms are separated from the room by frosted glass walls. The blinds did an excellent job of keeping the room dark, providing a great night' sleep.

Location: This hotel is walking distance from Akasaka metro, however be warned the quickest way is up a very steep hill. The area is quiet, but surrounded by restaurants, and walking distacne (about 20 mins) to Roppongi.

We stayed for one week at this hotel and while the hotel is perfectly clean and the room-service superb, the hotel incomprehensibly doesn't seem to be much interested in international guests.

This starts with "Japanese-only" user manuals in the rooms and ends with staff, that is capable of only rudimentary interactions in English which lead to more than one inconvenient situation.

Even basic questions how to reach the airport or if a receipt can be made out are overstraining the helpful but in terms of language incapable employees.

The rooms aren't too big but spotless and with a superb view over Tokyo. The in-room service is average with a noisy AC and a nice panorama-window overlooking the city.
