Lawry's is a very classy joint that may provide a very nostalgic experience for some but can also feel like a fading black and white photo of a wonderful place in time. The bar is quite nice and would be a great place to chill with a drink before dinner. It is lit well, quite masculine, and quiet enough to have a conversation.

Dinner at Lawry's does not have to be expensive, the Tokyo cut is only 3,000 yen and comes with a full plate of sides. It is not a large cut, more like the size you will get at a Sunday buffet, but it is delicious. The sides are very good and very reminiscent of a dinner at grandmom's house - if your gram made peas and mashed potatoes and was fancy enough to chill the salad forks.

This is a great restaurant that has not innovated very much in years and while the quality of the meal has not diminished it can feel very old fashioned. The staff is great, the menu is a bit limited (it is a prime rib restaurant after all) and the location is convenient if you are doing business in Ebisu Garden Place or staying at the Westin.

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. I'm a lover of prime rib, and this restaurant does not disappoint. The prime rib was perfect, as was the mash potatoes and au jus that comes with it. The spinning salad was also very tasty. We didn't order other sides, as we were fine with what came with the meal. The staff were also very attentive and gave great customer service. If you are in Tokyo, please check out this restaurant. The staff also speak excellent English, for those that cannot speak Japanese.

Have been twice and would happily return.

Start with a drink in the bar: stylish decor, dim lighting and great bartender.

Move through to main dining room for a hearty but luxurious dinner. The room is large but booths provide intimacy.

Spinning salad bowl is gimmicky but generous and lighter than it looks; chilled salad fork is a nice touch.

The beef is superb, whatever cut you choose.

Wine by the glass is served in small carafes - another nice touch.

Only gripe is awkwardness of asking to swap side dishes. Ask to change mashed potatoes for salad - cue awkward waitress anxiety. But they always oblige in the end.

Go with friends for a fun slice of Americana and great rib roast.

The food is standard excellent Lawry's fare and the service is always excellent. It is a bit hard to find as Garden Place can be somewhat confusing depending which entrance you come in at.

While the new location is beautiful it is more of a modern steakhouse feel than the old school supper club feel of the old ATT building in Akasaka.

Nonetheless great food and always a good time.

As in the US - Great food and service for the price in Japan.  A great place to celebrate birthdays.  I think we counted 7 while we had dinner.  They had a surprisingly good and unique apple torte.  A must try!
