This hotel consider spacious in the middle of city. Toilet and bathroom are separated. Very near to Shin-Okubo station. There are lots of shops and restaurants at the main road towards hotel. Rooms are clean. They allow luggage storage on same day before and after check-in without additional charges. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful. Good place to stay!

This hotel is located closer to shin okubo station, about 2 street down after the rail way track. My friend and I stayed here for two nights and felt that although the place was small (even the ceiling is probably only 1.9m), it was rather cozy. Mineral water was provided and the shower facility is japanese style. During the days that we were there, the rooms were all fully booked out.

Hotel also allowed us to store our luggage for a few days while we were doing the Hakone Fuji side trip and was helpful in assisting us with booking of the robot restaurant and the airport limousine bus. Overall, would recommend this place to the budget traveler, looking for a decent hotel with the basic necessities and good service.

Located very near the bars and clubs of east Shinjuku but in a discrete quite street. Staff is polite. This is a hostel for parties, though. In addition, the walls are pretty thin and you can hear everything through them.
Overall, I'd recommend it.

The correct name of this hotel is Shin-Okubo City Hotel (unfortunatelty it's misspelled in the page title) as as the name suggests it is located in Shin-Okubo, also known as Koran Town with lots of great and fun Korean restaurants and shops nearby. It's very easy to find and conveniently located, as it's just 5 minutes walking from the Yamanote Line station Shin-Okubo (only 1 stop from the travel hub Shinjuku) - just turn right after exiting the station and walk down the street until you reach the 7Eleven, then turn right again and walk a few hundred meters until the hotel appears on your left hand side.

The hotel is quite small, but the reception is still staffed 24/7, and the interior underwent a renovation not long ago, so the decor and furniture are all brand new, modern and pleasant. The building is an older, typical Japanese 2-story structure (so walls are thin!) in a quiet alley. There is no restaurant, but a drinks vending machine and a microwave and toaster for the guest's use (and a 24/7 7Eleven around the corner, so no need to go hungry). The staff was always friendly and helpful (even though I think I woke them up a few times when I came back to the hotel in the middle of the night), spoke good English and offered expert advise on where to dine, etc. As check-in is at 15:00 you can leave your luggage in case you arrive early.

I stayed in 2 different single rooms at the beginning and end of my Japan trip, and both rooms surprised my by their size - I was expecting something smaller for a city like Tokyo. The bed was comfortable, yet harder than stardard European or US beds, and the room spotlessly clean. The free Wifi was working great and I liked the amenities like a fridge, kettle with tea and the bodywash, shampoo and conditioner by Shiseido. A plus was also the seperate "space age" toilet with heated seat, etc. The shower cubicle was Japanese style, so you shower on a stool next to the small bathtub and then soak in the bath after cleansing yourself. In the first room, the bathroom had not been renovated, so it was a bit dated, but clean.
