Stayed here one night as a stopover enroute to other Japan destinations.

The Pros:
- you get your own room for the same price as a bunk bed elsewhere
- walking distance to the Minami-Senju JR station. We walked with our packs on our backs with no problem
- showers have excellent water pressure and have soap/shampoo

The Cons:
- the upstairs coed bathroom STINKS. It was so bad that I was willing to go down 2 flights of stairs to use the female-only bathroom
- the place is a bit grimy, definitely the dirtiest place I stayed in while in Japan (but also one of the cheapest)
- towels cost 100Y to borrow, but are of decent size.

The area has a bit of a bad rep, but I didnt feel unsafe walking after dark.
Stay here if you're willing to sacrifice a bit of cleanliness for privacy.

It was good to get privacy for the price. Minami-Senju is the closest station which is a bit out of the way for the rest of Tokyo. Bit of a sketchy area it seemed, close to the Skytree and Asakusa area. Walls are paper thin so you could hear everything going on in the hallways, I could hear chairs moving around on the first floor from our third floor room. Linens were clean and there was staff cleaning around every morning. Bathrooms were pretty sketchy looking. Rooms are small and kind of remind you of a prison, we were able to squeeze two of us next to each other and our bags against the wall.

Room Tip: Open a window, air out your room.

Its all basic.

- Its around 10 min walk from Minami Senju station. Its quite far. Although, if you are fond of walking, from the nearest 7-11, it is a 20 minute walk to Sumida River park, 30 mins if you wish to go Sensoji temple or Tokyo Skytree
- The best thing about this place is privacy. You pay for a small room for yourself. It is unlike the usual hostel that you pay for a bed, or a bunk (whatever you call it). For 2900 yen, you can a small room that will fit a one bed futon, and small cabinet and a TV. You dont have to deal with noisy roommate of a stranger
- What I dont like is the bathroom/toilet. The toilet is: 1st floor (women only toilet), 2nd floor (male only toilet), 3rd floor (mixed but with urinals - you get what I mean). The bathroom is only in the first floor and there are only 3 bathrooms
- There are free tea and coffee but they are not unlimited (if they ran out, no refills), there is vendo though
- There is really no pantry. There is a small space near the reception but it can only fit 3-4 people. So if you want to buy food and eat there... dont. just go outside and eat, or do it in your room
- The staff are nice. That is a plus. They speak good english and easy to deal with.

WE booked this place only because our preferred hostels are fully booked. This would not be on top of my list but its not a bad option.

The most appealing feature of this hostel aside from it being the cheapest in Tokyo is that you get your own privacy even if you are travelling alone. You get your own room although the bathroom is still shared of course. The room varies on either western or japanese style bed. You get a locker and a tv inside your room. The cost per night is only 2900 yen. The staff are really friendly and can speak good english. It is a bit of a walk from the train station (Minami Senju) but it is easy to find. If you have time, Sumida river is 20 minute walk away from the hostel. Then you can walk a little further and you'd reach Asakusa temple or the Skytree. The neighborhood is quiet so you can definitely have a good night sleep. The only thing is the bathroom, it is a bit old. And the bathrooms are available only at the ground floor. There are only 2 bathrooms so sometimes there is a queue. I would still book this hostel on my next visit though.

Stayed here for 1 night before heading to Saitama to visit my friend. At this price, I don't expect a suite with a sea view. Everything was very basic. Room was very tiny, noisy and I even had a couple of roaches for company at night. However, the hotel grounds were reasonably clean and the staff are very polite. There's even free Wifi. Location-wise, I have no complaints whatsoever, since the hotel is actually nearer to Saitama (where I wanted to visit) than some of the great attractions in Tokyo. Would I recommend this hotel to my friends? Yes I would, but not for a long stay though.
