As expected from a Logis de France hotel the food was excellent. The 22 Euro evening menu was particularly good value. The hostess was very accommodating and her English was far superior to our stilted French. The restaurant was beautiful and the room used for breakfast had stunning views of the valley. The local area is absolutely charming.

We selected this hotel on the basis of the Trip Advisor and Booking. com reviews. We found the visitor parking behind the hotel down a steep driveway which would have been difficult/impossible for disabled visitors. We were given a room on the second floor which was accessed only by a spiralling staircase with relatively narrow treads and no handrail to the outer wall. This would have provided very difficult/impossible access for disabled guests and as far as I am aware this was the sole means of escape in the event of fire. There was a small step up into the room. There was no indication or warning of this either outside or inside the room and my wife fell down on exiting the room and hurt her head on the wall opposite as well as her arms, hands and knees - definitely an unsafe practice. The bedroom was adequately sized and was provided with a room air conditioner. The bathroom had a WC, washbasin and a bath with shower attachment. The waste water pipes were almost completely blocked for both the basin and the bath. The basin when half full took over a minute to empty the water and the bath was similar for the small amount of water used - these facilities could not have been properly cleaned for sometime. The bedroom and bathroom could have done with being completely refurbished an redecorated. The hotel generally required redecoration and refurbishment and could best be described as “tired”. The breakfast was a standard French style breakfast and was served in the dining room. The hotel staff that we met were all polite, particularly the breakfast waitress, who also acted as the hotel checkout. We did advise her of our safety concerns about the room as well as the plumbing issues. Our view is that the hotel was overpriced for its general level of comfort and quality.

We were greeted by the owner, a charming man and shown to our rooms which were large, gleaming clean and welcoming. The bathroom was as big as some of the hotel bedrooms I've had in the past with the expected shower, basin and toilet. We sat outside on the terrace for our evening meal which was really tasty, beautifully cooked and well presented. The recommended wine was slightly more expensive than I usually pay at 23 euros but it was superb. There was a good choice of food at breakfast but also what impressed was the way the tables were laid out, a great deal of thought had gone into making them attractive. The bills for both my sister and myself were very reasonable. We didn't have time to stay and explore the town which sits along the river Vezere but what we could see looked very interesting and makes us want to return and spend more time there.

Amazing owner, clean and large room, welcoming staff, great restaurant. 10/10. Merci!!! A wonderful and authentic starting point for any trip to the region of Limosin. Also, a 5 minute walk to the bar in the village. Great road access to take car trips if desired.

This small hotel in the centre of Uzerche is a nice and cosy, romantic place to stay. Although the dining- or breakfast room could use some more decorations, the rooms and the hotel are a typical French place. The hotel is situated next to the river and a bridge and is an old style building. Looking at the average pricing, it´s good value for money. Their restaurant serves an excellent menu. The breakfast on the other hand, is simple.
