"Pinta" is a great place to stay. It is in the village of Lumbarda on the island of Korcula, not too far from Dubrovnik. It is on a hilltop with sweeping views over the vineyards and out over the blue Adriatic. The apartments are very clean and well equipped, and the owners are very friendly and helpful. Lumbarda has many very good restaurants ,and there is a supermarket with ATM within walking distance of the apartment. Car ferries connect the island of Korcula with the mainland. We highly recommend this place!
A very attractive apartment with lovely views from the balcony over the vines and roof tops of the old village and across to the pine trees and bays at the end of the island. A lovely spot. A short walk to the two nearby sandy beaches and beach bars/restaurants and in the other direction a short walk to Lumbarda and its bars and restaurants and supermarket. Ivan and Nada, the owners were very welcoming including, a bottle of wine, chocolate cake and figs in the fridge upon our arrival.
Anyone coming with a large car be aware all the roads in the village around the apartment are narrow with some sharp bends - very characterful but care is needed as it is tight in places - don't be put off through - it is a super spot and would definitely return.
We (3 people) stayed at the 2+2 apartment for three nights in August 2014. It is beautifully located in the middle of a small village on top of a small hill, and the view from the terrace over the village and vineyards towards the sea is great. A supermarket and the very nice Pržina beach are just a 10 minute walk away. The owner was friendly and helpful. Wifi worked. Private parking is available, but a bit difficult to get into and out of when all spaces are occupied. The apartment's interior looked new, fresh and modern, including the modern and complete kitchen.
Negative points are that the terrace, in contrast to the rest of the apartment, was not very clean when we arrived (it was very sandy/dusty), and that there was an invasion of very small ants in the kitchen. A box of insect bait/killer had already been placed in a corner, so this was a known problem, but very annoying anyway. The ants invaded our package of bread when we left it on the kitchen table overnight, and some of them also made their way into other rooms.
In summary: When the ant problem is solved, this is a really nice apartment in a great location that I would absolutely recommend.
