I was there for a wedding.
90 Euros per night are really not worth! Disappointed about the room, extremely small and not properly cleaned. Shower not working properly. Breakfast very poor. Definitely won’t go there again.

Lovely small hotel in a nice town with good places to eat out. Friendly helpful owners.. Very clean and comfy room, way beyond the star rating. Good choice for a few nights stopover on the way and easy to reach from Bilbao airport.

An excellent stay at this Spanish hotel. We only stayed one night. Clean, friendly staff. The hotel is in a small Spanish town just off the main route to Santander. We parked for free outside the hotel. Scenic mountain views from our room. The town was like a florists, there were flowers everywhere. The town had the appearance of an old western stage town with wooden balconies on most of the houses. If you are travelling to or from Santander and are looking for an overnight stay this is it. Excellent breakfast buffet for 5€. There is a cosy lounge with settees, a tv, magazines and a good view and s terrace. Great place to rest after a long drive. Giving 5 stars as well deserved.

We were en route from SW France to England via the port at Santander, Northern Spain, and wanted a cheap overnight stop. I had found El HOTEL RURAL DE ESCALANTE LAS SOLANAS somewhere online and decided to try it, because it had been well reviewed, it accepted dogs, it was a handy 40 km from Santander on the beautiful Cantabrian coast, and at 33 euros a night for a double room it seemed almost suspiciously cheap. There was no need for suspicion. It proved ideal: a good location both for our overall journey and in the little town of Escalante itself; clean, marble-floored public areas; a clean warm en-suite room; a helpful, polite and human manageress/owner; and easy free parking. Breakfast, which we took, proved a bargain too, at 11 euros for the two of us. For other meals there are restaurants and bars within minutes' walking distance of the hotel's quiet street. Thoroughly recommended for anyone wanting clean comfort and tremendous value for money rather than luxury or swank.

We didn't stay at the hotel because there wasn't availability. However, both the friendly staff that we spoke to went out of their way to help us find somewhere else for us to stay the night. We were doing the camino de santiago and had been walking all day. He rang a hostel in a different town, gave us the times for the bus to get there, helped us to plan the next days walk and where were the best places to stay along the way.
The loveliest people we met along the way, and would recommend their place to anyone!

Dear Grace, your words are very nice and exciting. Thank you very much. I admire the Camino de Santiago and each of the pilgrims. I think we should consider them because the effort is great. Nothing costs a few minutes to someone who is away from home tired and need a little help. Hope all was well and I recommend everyone meet Grace, a person who puts a smile on a difficult day and sowing joy. Farewell my friends pilgrims !!!!
