This wilderness retreat was just what we were looking for: a variety of activities, charm, ++nature and 'not-so-rugged' comfort over our 3-day weekend. The absolute warm welcome started with our CEO (chief experience officer) Kiernan, who was THE ultimate guide. His wit, humour, world-experience, politeness and gentle motivation was exactly what we needed to enjoy our stay to the fullest. His instruction and conscientious attitude towards our safety were always foremost and alleviated many worries for amateurs! From paddleboarding, canoeing, kayaking to enjoying the amazing meals and sauna, the weekend was jam-packed with adventure and fun. Kiernan constantly asked each guest what their wishes were and made sure each of us had our wishes granted. The chef Gregor was a true wonder and left each of us wondering if we could ever find another 'Rocky' oven to cook our pizzas in... Too many other helpers to thank but Alissa, Linda, Alistar, and Marilyn were all staff that should be commended. We took binoculars, camera, watershoes, raincoats, bugspray, and we were super-glad for each of these items. The 5-star meals, learning new watersports, the canoe trip down the river, the sound of the moose in the bushes and biking in the mist to actually SEE a moose were the highlights of our trip. My husband and I can't wait for the autumn and winter experiences and we look forward to recommending this NorthernEdge Retreat to others! This is definitely NOT a 'lay on the beach' holiday, but rather a complete action-packed stimulating adventure, topped off with Algonquin tea and cookies at the campfire. Thanks gang, till we meet again soon. Karen & Dan

Hi Karen,
Thank you for your review. Indeed stays at the Edge are not for people just looking for accommodation at Algonquin Park. Action-packed, with ample rewards of the experience and the just reward of sharing memorable meals and pulling up the feather duvet at the end of the day.
We look forward to your next visit to the Edge.

My girlfriend and I just returned from a 3 night/4 day stay (July 17-20) at the Northern Edge Algonquin...and we got more than we could have ever imagined! We participated in the Explorer's Cabin Package and were upgrade to a room with a compost toilet, which came in handy in the early mornings. The room was very large with a double and a single bed. Very clean and super comfy down duvets. We were greeted with a sign that had our names on it and the smiling face of our C.E.O. (Chief Experience Officer), Kieran Kelly. From our arrival to our departure we truly felt like we had 5 star service and attention to detail. Not to mention how beautiful the property was from the flowers and how everything was placed...you knew everything was done in a loving way. Kieran was super friendly and so easy to be around. He always made sure we were happy and would meet all of our requests and even think of things we would never have, such as picking just the right hiking trial and changing up the itinerary such as having a bonfire to making sure we had mosquito jackets :-) The day canoe trip was so great and not to mention trying the SUP (stand up paddle board) for the first time...but not our last. Greg Waters the chef/kitchen guru also bumped up our experience to another level. We can't even describe how amazing the food was...it honestly is one of the best culinary experiences we have every had! Our highlight was the description of how the menu came to be and I felt like a little kid again when we made our own pizza. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you to everyone, especially the behind the scenes staff...we couldn't have wanted more...but got it!

Room tip: Pay a little extra for the updatet for a cabin

off-the-grid, environmentally friendly village for pure naturists and or persons truly valuing the earth and its precious resources… the owners and employees are driven by loving and responsible values and care to offer travellers and explorers a wondrous opportunity to invest in the natural stillness of the beautiful lakes, flora and fauna… from the hiking trails, to the specific programs available, to the scrumptious wholesome cooking, to the kindhearted warmth of staff, this place is utterly a palace to center one self, to connect with nature, and to unwind peacefully… be careful, your watch may very well explode, real time takes initiative here… haha… thank you edge, for consistently providing loving hospitality and exceptional landscapes for rest and relaxation to the fullest…
