My wife and I booked a stay at Northern Edge for a nice getaway in mid-February.
I can say nothing but good things about this place:
1) Accomodations were great!
We chose to stay in a little fully detached cottage, rather than in the main hall, although we knew ahead of time we'd have to walk outside to get to the bathroom. This turned out to be no problem at all, a minute's walk and you're back in warmth of Points North (the 'living room' building of the complex, as it were).
The cabin was very cozy, warm, and very clean, we had some minor problems with the lights but they were fixed within a reasonable time. We chose to sleep in the bunk bed, so were very comfortable (remember, hot air rises!).
2) Food was mindblowing.
No hyperbole here, we had some phenomenal eats, courtesy of the resident wizard-with-food Greg. Everything locally sourced, everything spiced and roasted/toasted/boiled/broiled/etc to perfection, whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
A vegetarian option was always available, and quite delicious.
3) The people at Northern Edge are the true treasure.
I've already mentioned Greg, so I'm mainly going to talk about Jeff and Kim.
These guys were our adventure guides, taking us cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and just pitching in and giving a hand where needed.
I can say that they're some of the most genuinely friendly, open, and awesome people I've ever had the pleasure...My wife and I booked a stay at Northern Edge for a nice getaway in mid-February.

A huge "thank you" to the folks at Northern Edge Algonquin, and we'll definitely be back!More
