We were one of two other couples invited to share a 25th anniversary trip with my Bro and his bride; we were not sure what to expect, but the Edge team exceeded expectations. The setting is an idyllic, pristine forest/lake environment with log cabins, tented cabins and common buildings that co-exist and thrive with nature. Discovering the little nooks and cozy crannies on the property that Todd and Martha have created made us at first feel like we'd been dropped off at Camp, and were free to explore as we all had done once as kids. The food was the biggest surprise: every meal was a healthy gourmet treat - Chefs Greg and Ally were amazing, not just in their prep, but in explaining each meal -- Pizza served right out of a 800F woodstove, the best oatmeal ever (unlimited Maple Syrup from the property!), wonderful soups, meats, salads and breads, all locally sourced and very fresh. Everyone mixes socially in the dining room of the Lodge and you are prone to meet some very interesting and like-minded souls. Lingering over a scrumptious meal, while gazing out at the lovely lakeside setting, seemed to make conversation easy with guests from all over the world at your elbow. Finally, a big thanks to our guides for hikes and paddling, Jeff and Kim; and Kieran and Allyssa – they are ‘Souls of the Lake and Woods’, great guides, intelligent and thoughtful –...We were one of two other couples invited to share a 25th anniversary trip with my Bro and his bride; we were not sure what to expect, but the Edge team exceeded expectations. Finally, a big thanks to our guides for hikes and paddling, Jeff and Kim; and Kieran and Allyssa – they are ‘Souls of the Lake and Woods’, great guides, intelligent and thoughtful – and every need is looked after: on adventurers, making a campfire, or firing up the Sauna. On one hugely windy August day, Kim stayed near me as we paddled back to camp straight against a 40km wind – then she even seemed to let me beat her to the dock at the end… for the sake of my pride. Kind indeed! We plan to try the Edge in the Winter next: can’t wait to try to the “Sauna and snow roll” which is well-advertised amongst the staff. Thanks again Todd and Martha and everyone at the Edge.More
