Club Orient is unique. It is located on the most beautiful clothing-optional beach in the Caribbean. The accommodations are basic but clean and comfortable. The studios are the best value, but if you want more room get a mini-suite. The beachfront chalets are lovely and right on the beach, but they are more expensive. The on-site restaurant is good, and there is live music for dancing several nights a week. Leave your clothes and worries at home and have a great time at Club Orient.

We just spent another relaxing week at Club Orient on St Martin. The chalets are comfortable. They are close enough to meet our neighbors on the patios but far enough away that we did not feel like we were right on top of them. The grounds are quiet and peaceful. This year they had a TV with cable. This was a change from past years. The fitness center had a new elliptical machine this year. Although I did use it, just not as often as I should have. We spent a week where the only time we had to put on clothes was the one day we went diving.

Our day usually started at 7:45 am. We woke to go to the boutique which opens at 8. They open just after their delivery of fresh croissants and bread. The free fresh brewed coffee was ready and we bought out 2 chocolate croissants for breakfast and our bread and cheese for that day's lunch. We then put on our sunscreen and headed to the beach. Although the clothing optional beach is one of the most beautiful in the world, we went to our oceanfront chairs that were reserved for us for the week. Upon check-in, you are given chair tags. You then choose any open chair you wish and place your tags on them. They are then yours for the duration of the stay. By the time we usually get there, a beach umbrella had been place over our lounge chairs for us. We walked, read, met other people on the beach and cooled off in the clear blue water until lunch. Then back to the beach and more relaxing until sunset. We are not big drinkers but the beach bar had happy hour at 3:30 every day. The bar in the Papagaya restaurant had happy hour at 5:30.
after the beach we would shower and head to dinner at Papagaya. The food there while not cheap, was good. They had several fresh seafood choices for us prepared in varied styles. The staff was friendly and efficient. We were served quickly but not rushed. There was entertainment with a singer or DJ every night and we could dance during and after dinner. By this time we were tired and headed back to sleep and rest up for another day in paradise.

It has been a busy few months and we totally enjoyed to peace and rest of this vacation. We he been going to Club O for years and will continue to do so.

First, I have to say, that whenever I start a review of a property for Trip Advisor, I really struggle with the TA rating system (is this property a 3-circle? A 5-circle?). So, for consistency’s sake, I reserve 4 and 5-circle ratings for true 4 and 5-circle properties, that are heavy with amenities, luxury, service, etc…. think Ritz Carlton-style, or Sandy Lane-style (Barbados) properties. So, with that measure, I can’t give Club O 5 circles.
But…. That doesn’t mean, in the slightest, that Club O wasn’t GREAT, because it really was. The big selling point of Club O, as we know, is the freedom to be nude, 24/7. That’s why we picked it, and that’s why everyone picks it. And, it delivers, as promised, providing a safe, welcoming environment for the seasoned nudist and newbie alike.
We chose a mini-suite for our stay, and would opt for that level of accommodation next time, as well. The space was plenty big for our needs, with an adequately equipped kitchen, and spacious living room-bedroom area. There were plenty of lamps, which is often not the case in hotel rooms. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting a shower/tub in the bathroom…. I saw only that outdoor showers were featured, and was expecting that to be our only option. Keep in mind, Club O supplies bar soap only…. No shampoo, no bath gel, no conditioner, no lotion. Pack accordingly. Our biggest (only?) complaint about the room was the bed. No other way to say it… it was simply awful. The mattress was hard as a rock, the pillows were flat. The only decent night of sleep I got was the one night I took a sleep aid (I was desperate). We both woke up in pain… just awful. Next time, I will bring a 2-inch foam topper or something in my suitcase, if weight allows. This was room 143… I don’t know if all of the rooms have the same mattress… which rooms are privately owned and which are stock hotel rooms.
The property is lovely and well maintained. We would have loved to have seen more encouragement towards “community”. We weren’t looking for a whole team of folks looking to get guests involved in a full menu of activities all day long, but more like maybe setting up a big bbq grill or two, and some picnic tables in the middle of the courtyard (cul de sac), where folks might gather on an evening, open a few bottles of wine, grill up some food. Folks we met were very friendly, but we were surprised that there were no opportunities, really, to hang out with people. I can see how Club O would be great, traveling as a group… bring your own party.
No complaints about the beach. We loved having a reserved space, so we didn’t have to rush down every morning to claim a chair with a towel. That worked out well for us, since most mornings, we strolled into the village for breakfast and didn’t make it to our chairs before 10 or so.

All in all, we had a great time. Anything else I have to say is really more about St. Martin in general than it is about Club O. We will definitely be back.

Room tip: All locations are good, nothing too far from anything else

Although we never stayed at Club Orient we were at the beach daily. It's still the best on Orient Bay. This was our 4th time to Saint Marten and this time brought our 10 and 13 year old grandsons. One said " now we know why you come here" They didn't want to leave the island. The 10 year old enjoyed fishing, catching and then releasing. The 13 year old loved playing volleyball in the afternoon with Louis from Dolphin Watersports and left the volleyball for others to use. He left a pump on their building on the morning we left. Marcos says Hi Louis.
