“Tight Pack”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 February 2012

The beach is tight pack to say the least. Chairs and umbrellas from one end to the other. All very tightly controlled, and all expensive . If there was any public access I didn't see it. The surf can be daunting for the smaller person.

“Fun beach with lots of activity”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 February 2012

This is a great beach by St Martin standards. The water is beautiful and there can be quite a bit of wave activity if you go on the right day. It is crowded and there is a bit of seaweed. But the beach is expansive enough that you can easily find a more secluded spot. Yes it's a topless beach and there's going to be old men running around in pink thongs no matter what part of the beach you are on, either get over it or choose an American island like St Thomas or St John for your vacation. There's tons of options for food and drinks on the beach and it's relatively easy to get a beach chair.

“Fantastic few days at the beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 February 2012

Body surfing with our child, building sandcastles and plain chilling under an umbrella'd beach chair at Boo Boo's bar was absolutely memorable. We went back several times, as it is family friendly with lots of kids that just eventually all play together. The food at Boo Boo's Bar is very good and very reasonably priced. Tip - don't order wine by the glass at 5.00 Euros/glass, rather order a bottle for 14.00 Euros (if you like wine). Long safe beach to walk, not many shells to collect. There are clean changing stalss, toilets and showers at Boo Boo's Bar.

“fun to watch people walking, did not go to the nude beach but beware the woman walk around with their tops exposed.”

Not much, very commercial and fun to go to but would not stay by orient beach. Food was great there and to rent chairs was not expensive, Parking was free.

“Too crowded and not a very good beach”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 February 2012

Of all the beaches we went to in Saint Martin this is the one we agreed we would not return to. I cannot think of a single advantage of this beach over the other beaches. The disadvantages, however, are plenty: overcrowded, lots of seaweed, roots and seaweed sticking out of the sand.

I would instead recommend Baie Rouge if you're looking for something less crowded, but "on your own", or Pinel Island for a far better beach with good service directly on the beach.
