I stayed here in a Chalet with my boyfriend a few times, it was a beautiful place, you can wash in private outside showers. There are balconies that look on beautiful scenes with colourful flowers. The pina coladas are great and you can order them whenever. The food is a little pricey and a little variable, but saying that some of it was great. Theres not really an option to eat and drink elsewhere unless you get in a taxi and go into sandakan. And the booking system was weird, a few times we couldnt get a double chalet even though they were available and then they wouldnt alter it for us and stuck us in a twin room.

We loved the laid-back vibe of this place and this was the best meals we had in 8 days traveling around Sabah. The meals on the menu are incredibly good! You must order the Hinava and the sauteen fern. So good! The breakfast is okay--its more of a continental+ breakfast (it has a few additional items above a continental but still pretty simple and basic). It will satisfy you but its nothing special and could use a bit of an upgrade but you can order eggs in the morning. The coffee is good and the toast is fun to do over open hot coals. My kids enjoyed that. The rooms are spacious and we loved our deck in the morning (we were in a family room). We could hear so much wildlife early in the morning and I enjoyed drinking coffee on the deck in the morning. The restaurant area has a covered area and an open sun-deck with lounge chairs, plus more lounging area around the "minipool". It was a nice space to relax and read. We liked some of the games available in the restaurant area and played dominoes while waiting on our food. The music from the restaurant was great and we could hear it down by the pool area. Definitely helped set a cool vibe. We enjoyed cocktails in the late afternoon after our visit to the orang utan rehabilitation center and the sun bear conservation center. There is a nicer, more expensive property just next door to Sepilok Forest Edge and we had originally considered staying there but after our stay at Forest Edge, we felt we'd made the right decision. Honestly, there was nothing missing other than maybe a more grand breakfast. But for the price we paid for Forest Edge and the amazing food we had for lunch and dinner, the super-friendly staff, the spacious rooms, the sounds of nature all around, and such a nice little hangout spot by the restaurant and pool, we felt we weren't missing out on anything. We've already recommended this to friends who are coming here at Christmas and they have a room booked here.

Easy pretty walk to Sanctuaries. We arrived early, but able to have our room, the staff were happy to keep our luggage. The lodges are clean and nicely positioned next to the forest, so easy access to walks. We has a balcony with chairs to watch the birds and wildlife. The bathroom had an attached outside shower- what fun, and nice and cool on a hot day ! The restaurant had a good menu ,the food was delicious . Breakfast was basic, but tasty and plenty of it. Staff friendly, the communal area had Wi-Fi, had a nice relaxed vibe (no shoes). Wished we had stayed longer.

Small swimming pool is great for relaxing after a daytrip. Very relaxing restaurant area with great food, cocktails & WiFi Private cabin is great and has both indoor & outdoor shower Surrounded by nature (i.e. bats & birds) and very close to the animal sanctuaries. Great help for organizing day trips (i.e. Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary/Kinabatangan River Cruise)

No nearby ATM/Store/Restaurants. Bat droppings Staff is sometimes a bit slow.

We had a fantastic stay here. The service is great. Amazing food and good location for orangutans and sunbears. They also have a shuttle service to the proboscis monkey sanctuary. We stayed in the bilat chalet which is lovely but noisy on an evening and through the night as its a bats roost. We would probably avoid if we were to return in favour of a goid noghts sleep.
