This property is owned and run by HF Holidays as a base for walks in the Yorkshire Dales. I had been to another of their houses before so expected it to be similar.

The house is very nice and my room in the annex was nice. Brilliant shower! The meals are lovely and very professionally presented. A good base for walking.

The majority of the other guests were on the same break as I was but I think you can book independently though think you would need to arrange your own walks.

Great for a short break and an opportunity to discover the beautiful surroundings.

Room Tip: Not sure you can choose a particular room

Visited Newfield Hall for a HF walking weekend. This being my third short break with HF I knew what to expect.
As always I was very pleased with everything. Food was 5 stars couldn't fault anything. The gala dinner on the Saturday was superb!
Walk leaders were very good and pitched the walks just right, so you knew what to expect.
Hotel itself was a lovely building with good standard of accommodation.
Overall first rate as the other guests were so lovely and friendly too!
Thanks HF

Hotel was lovely very clean the staff were very helpful. Hotel is in a lovely setting, it is a walking hotel which we did not know when we booked the weekend away, but we really enjoyed the stay and would go back and even book a walking holiday as we found everyone very friendly

Generally the hotel and its rooms are very good. It is set in pleasant grounds with views of the Dales. Unfortunately it is lacking in some areas, particularly some of the food.
Our welcome was brief, quote "You are in room 5, it is open, your keys are inside".
Breakfasts were excellent, but dinners always had something lacking. Fish and meat were cooked well, but potatoes seem to be a problem. Roast potatoes in particular were uneatable (in a restaurant I would have sent them back, but others at the table muttered to each other, but did not complain (you eat at tables of eight). On another night dinner was late starting and twenty minutes was the average time between courses.
You order dinner immediately after breakfast. Read the menu carefully your choice may not be what you think ! Chicken supreme was roast chicken on a bed of mashed potatoe with no sign of a white sauce.
Some of these comments may seem minor, but they spoil what should have been a wonderful weekend.

Room Tip: Rooms 5 and 6 have excellent views. Some ground floor rooms are next to the public toilet.

A great HF holiday country house. The rooms were spacious, the staff friendly and helpful and the food was varied offering plenty of choice, well prepared and good sized portions. Perfect location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales.

Room Tip: Make sure if you're a couple you have a large enough bed as they vary in size.
