The owners gave us a warm welcome and were very helpful in providing details about the area, parking arrangements etc.
The cottage is well maintained and fully equipped for a comfortable stay. The downstairs rooms are on the small side and the kitchen is a bit cramped for more than one person at a time. The bedroom upstairs is a good size and there is an excellent ensuite shower and toilet.
The cottage is situated off the main street, up an alleyway accessed via a lockable door. There is some outdoor space in a high walled back yard, but with no view or outlook, which was a negative point for us. However, on the positive side it felt very secure and completely quiet at all times.
Despite being a small town, Guisborough has a very good variety of restaurants, both sit-in and take-away, all of which are within a few minutes walk of the cottage. It's also very well located for trips to the coast or to the Moors.
Overall we were well satisfied with our stay at this cottage and would happily return if in the area.

Clean, warm and good decor. Wouldnt be suitable for more than 3 people but is perfect for 2. Its in a back street behind a greggs and a post office which means it is quiet but also can be hard to park unless you are out before 10am can be harder on market days. The town has essential shops such as boots, one stop and morrisons. This didnt effect me but there's not much natural light as its behind shops. The shower is lovely and very spacious. Overall it was a pleasent, cosy and homely place to stay while in north yorkshire.

We found the cottage easily with the assistance of Ian the owner who met us on our arrival. It is tucked away but very convenient for all the local amenities. The cottage is warm and cosy with all modern appliances. Although not used by us there is a small courtyard for finer weather.

Have stayed here before. My wife and I needed somewhere to stay to visit my mother who is very ill in a nearby care-home. Ian was very accommodating in view of the fact that we were asking for an 'open-ended' stay. Cottage (there's another one next door) is in an ideal position in a courtyard just off the main street in Guisborough - an excellent small historical market town, ideally suited to anyone wishing to explore the wonderful North Yorkshire coast, and Moors. So, despite it's proximity to all the shops and amenities, it is perfectly quiet! There is a good street market here, three days a week. Parking is by a) disc for 2 hours outside in the main street and b) residential parking (unlimited) in a nearby street about 5 mins. away.
I booked the cottage for a one-week stay so that I could work while seeing family in Guisborough. The landlord met me on arrival and was very friendly and helpful. The cottage was as shown on trip advisor - very pleasant and clean, but a bit cramped. The main drawback was that there is hardly any natural light in the cottage, which I found a bit oppressive. Guisborough as a town is pleasant though uninspiring, and the surrounding countryside is glorious..
