My husband and I stayed here in August for a couple of nights in one of the accessible rooms they have(husband is a wheelchair user). the welcome was friendly and helpful as was the info about where to get breakfast and the Spa treatments.
We fell for the picturesque nature of the place once we'd found it and were swept away by the decor and the surroundings. It was lovely to see that they clearly actively encourage the returning swifts, swallows and house martens to nest in a variety of eves and overhangs and we had the privilege of seeing a restful of swallows fledge. The hotel itself is high quality and the food excellent with superb waiter local knowledge and helpful bar staff.
The room was tight for my husband to manoeuvre around however it was ground floor, we did have our own log stove on our own patio overlooking the river so really, for a couple of nights, perfectly easy to put up with the lack of accessible shower facilities.
We would return but it would only be for a couple of days at a time given the minor accessibility issues. My husband is very independent and strong- it would be difficult for someone less physically able to self-propell.More
