I have been going camping since I was a little girl. I am used of normal camp noises: people whispering in nearby tents, walking to the toilet by our tent, closing car doors... This is the 4th time me and my boyfriend are staying here and every year we ask ourselves if it's worth it. Honestly, we are returning just because of the Kamenjak natural park. If we find another option to spend our days there, without using a car, we will take it. We are a young couple and we don't party on vacation, we just want to relax and enjoy the smell of pine trees and the noise of the sea. Instead you listen to loud music until 5 am, because of an open air club open from thursday to sunday. You can hear every stupid song that is playing, you can actually sing along. Just now (1am) there is a concert of a local singer, so its even louder than normally. Just heard the dj say: do jutra! (Untill morning!), just kill me. Perfect for those who want to party all night to local music and plain stupid for those who want to enjoy quiet nights. The camp management can't really affect the night club, but they dont do a thing about the noise in the camp. People drinking, being really lound in the middle of the night, nobody to keep them quiet, like in other camps where a securety guard walks around and is keeping things under control. It is impossible to have a good night sleep during high season. The shop is quite poor, no hot water in the evenings, when everybody is taking a shower, they try to keep it clean, but people are nasty beings (hygene pads, whole heads of hair on the floor, peep holes inbetween shower stals). The staff can be really helpfull, electricty problem fixed in 5 minutes, but they will not lift a finger if you book online through arenacamp webpage and you encouner problems. The camp have a lot of shade and the most perfect natural park just 10 mintes away by foot, but the noise just ruins the experience. I can sleep through earthquakes, but this is just too much.

Since 1998 we spent some days at Camp Stupice and observed many quality improving activities.

Actual standard of cleanliness in the toilets and washrooms is very good. Camping area is well maintained (electricity, warm water etc.), field service is very friendly.

Reservation of places is possible. (Don't know how much time in front of arrival; we did our's in March - fee = 100€)

Sport activity area is still in 60's style.
Poor product selection in the camp shop.

Assistants are very friendly and speaking many common languages.

Camping Stupice is a great place to be. This year in May, last year in July: You normally will find a place . Since the camp is in the woods and directly on the sea it is a bit like "wild camping". Please make sure you have enough material to level your camper van, because the camping is on a small hill, especially the nicest places on the sea side. Supermarket is open from 7am to 2:30pm in may. Bring your bikes to enjoy the national park. Great fun, great landscape and great bars :-)

Nothing has changed in this camp in the last 25 years. Well, they have mobile homes now, but they are already old and are poorly equipped. They charge for heating and AC specially !? Check out time is 10.00 AM, so half an hour before there is crowd of cleaning staff waiting for you to leave your M home, including a supervisor who checks the inventory to be sure you haven't break or steal something. Very unpleasant. And of course all departing guests are then crowded at the reception desk making payments at the same time to catch check out time. This is typical for Croatia, they only seek ways to minimize staff efforts and do not care to be guest friendly at all. I have rather paid a day plus and left the camp at 1 PM at my convenience, than to be frustrated with packing early in the morning. Therefore I was the only guest at the reception at 1 PM, two employees sat there boring and guess what - they expected me to wait about 10 minutes for the change of shifts since they have already shut down computers !?!. Incredible stupidity and laziness. The camp will now be practically empty till June, nobody was arriving on May 2., but still check out is 10.00 AM. Typical Croatian approach. Welcome to Croatia.

Room Tip: There are much better MH's in other camps for the same amount of money.

We spent in Stupice one week in summer with our friends. Accomodation was allright, one mobile home has enough privacy for two pairs. Nature camp Kamenjak is worth to visit, specially nature Bar Safari at the end of peninsula. Premantura city has lot of small back streets with empty and cozy cafes and restaurants where you can taste local cuisine and alcoholic beverages. The nearist city is Pula, it has lot of historical monuments - it is a good choice for a trip.
