Owner description: Salina Island is the greenest and most central of all the Aeolian Islands. This is where the Muciara Diving Center is set, located, just ten meters from the arrivals of the hydrofoils at Santa Marina Salina. The Diving was set up thanks to Roberto Carini's will and his deep passion for the sea. The diving is operational from June to September and where everyone can practice a great variety of activities related to the sea, such as free diving, recreative diving and marine biology courses for children and adults. The diving center offers the highest professional standards and willingness to teach diving of every level. Muciara Diving Center works hard in order to satisfy the needs of all kind of diving levels y accompanying people oin more than 15 diving points in Salina. Also, is possible to organize full-days all the other islands of the archipelago. The diving is very well equipped: it has 15 complete Scubapro equipment, 15 tanks loaded. All this is set on a marvelous 13m motor boat for scuba diving, which is also used for 7-DAYS SCUBA CRUISES ALONG ALL THE SEVEN ISLANDS OF THE ARCHIPELAGO !!!

In July my boyfriend and I went several times scuba diving with Roberto, the owner of Muciara Diving Center, located at Santina Marina on Salina.

Roberto and his colleague Giulia, both Italians, are very friendly. They have been working together on Salina for years and thus know the Aeolian islands and locations for diving very well. Giulia, who has also studied marine biology, speaks excellent English and also Spanish. Roberto’s English may not be perfect but it is good and we did not have any difficulties to understand him. He also has a very good sense of humor. Roberto informed himself about the level of diving we had, our experience in diving and also asked us when we had last been diving. With Roberto one feels very safe. He takes time to explain where the dive will occur, what we may see, etc. After not having dived for 6 months, I felt beforehand a bit uneasy about a certain move. Roberto was there to explain again, repeat if necessary and added a couple of exercises under water. That all worked perfectly.

Since it was unusually windy for the season and the current strong, the sea did not allow us to go diving on Salina one morning. To make the dive possible, Roberto and Giulia changed the plans and took us by boat to the coast of Lipari where we had an excellent dive.

Roberto and Giulia take care to choose locations where everyone on board, independent of their diving level (e.g. beginners and experienced divers diving 50m deep) can have a sensational diving experience. Before coming to the Aeolian islands I had already heard that Salina was a wonderful place for diving.

The prices of Muciara are very good. We had forgotten to take something to eat with us. Giulia told us not to worry and made a delicious pasta for us, free of charge.

Muciara diving center was recommended to us by the owner of our hotel at Salina. He knew the place because his sons also went diving there.

You can find Roberto on his boat, carrying the inscription “Diving Boat", at the harbor of Santa Marina. If the boat does not happen to be there, you can also call Roberto on his cell phone. His cell phone number can be easily found on the internet.

We had great fun! I'd love to come again.

We have been diving a lot around the world, but still diving with Roberto and Giulia of Muciara Diving Center on Salina was a great experience for us. As their Dive Shop in Santa Maria has been closed, Roberto and Giulia now run their center from their ship in the harbour. They manage the activities in a smooth and efficient way, and they know to find top locations in the seas around Salina, visited by no other dive centers. We were surprised by the marine life we encountered, and the beautiful underwater scenery.
