Our last pit stop before Santiago was this lovely little hideaway in the town of Lavacolla, about a kilometer off the camino. It's an old country home and we stayed in a double room on the second floor - very quiet, bathroom was done up and showers were great. They've got beautiful grounds as well if you want to sit outside and soak in the peace and quiet. There is no restaurant on site but the owner kindly drove us out to a local restaurant and picked us up afterwards. Wifi is strong and fast. We also had laundry done, quick and easy.

We stayed here at the end of a wonderful holiday in Laxe so we were only here one night and wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel is set in such lovely countryside surroundings so we had a good walk around the grounds. The hotel itself is really unique with such spectacularly large bedrooms. It was a Sunday night and the hotel were not serving food however we walked to the nearest restaurant which was very good. You can also get a bus really easily into Santiago centre from the bus stop at the top of the road. The owner was very welcoming and friendly, we would definitely stay here again.

What a find! Only 4km from Santiago, but set in beautiful peaceful countryside right on the Camino. Alfonso very helpful suggesting where to eat and how to park in Santiago. Room was large, spacious and cool, huge very comfortable four poster bed. Very reasonably priced too.

This is pretty much the last stop for pilgrims before reaching their destination in Santiago. There's only 11 km left to go, and if they leave at dawn, they can reach the cathedral in time for the 10:00 am English mass. We were not one of these weary pilgrims, but we could imagine their feeling of relief upon arriving at this hotel, passing the chapel and entering the garden where you could hear the sound of a soothing fountain. We got that feeling just getting out of the car! Enchanting.

Parts of the hotel date back to the 1600s. It was quaintly beautiful and the owners were very pleasant. We stayed in room #27 which had a king 4-poster bed, 2 of the walls were the original stone, gorgeous wood finishing, modern bathroom fixtures. Beautiful. A very satisfying breakfast is only 6.60€ extra.

What a spectacular country house which is beautifully maintained. The owner was so helpful and friendly. There is no evening meal available at the hotel, so the owner drove us into the town - dropped us off at a restaurant and picked us up as well. Such a generous gesture and so appreciated. We wanted an early dinner so there was only one place open (Restaurante Sabugueiro) - and on first appearances, it looked a little basic - but wow! what an amazing meal we had. Traditional spanish food - we ended up having 3 starters - prawns, cuttlefish and squid - they were huge and absolutely delicious. The hotel breakfast was delicious and beautifully served out in the annexe building. Rooms were very comfortable and decorated to suit the age of the building. Yes it is a little way off the camino - but well worth it!! there is a short cut back to the camino the next day so you dont have to retrace your steps back into the village.
