We had a lovely stay in Lindale. You really don't need a car. We were sceptical but there are regular buses so you can explore the beautiful countryside. We loved the little garden and enjoyed the walks near the village. An excellent base for exploring the Lake District. We recommend a visit to Coniston Water and Brantwood House. Best Fish & Chips we've ever eaten in Kendal ! The accommodation is clean and comfortable, not luxurious but all the bases covered. An excellent base for exploring the Lake District.
The location is very convenient, just a little way off the main road and not much further from the M6. Still really quiet, though. Also close to the lovely waterfront at Grange.
Easy to travel for walking in the main areas, but with a few pleasant walks nearby.
The cottage is cosy for two, not great for more. Everything's there and it's a real cottage in a real village.
If there's one thing we might have felt could be better, it would be a larger screen tv. Not much of a quibble, really.
All in all, a place we'd be happy to return to.
This is perfect place to stay for couples. Nice and quiet village.Cottage very clean.
Full equipment everything you need.
My daughter in law found this cottage on the internet for me, I had been let down by a tour operator for Easter in the lakes.
The cottage is in a lovely village and is situated in a very quiet location which I loved.
I was on my own and really felt safe.
The cottage is beautifully restored and I needed for nothing, it's warm and cosy, I really was happy there. The rear garden is steep, which I already knew before I arrived.. I managed to venture to the highest point which I found pleasing at 66 yrs old. The directions I was given by the owner to find the cottage was easy to follow I found it easily.
I would definatly recommend this cottage to anyone
Nice cottage. Just a few small improvements I feel would enhance someone's stay. The cottage's furnishings are very dated. The cottage has so much potential, so it's a shame really. It would have been nice to have some more information on the local area (not the TV licence certificate), things to do and places to see as mentioned in the cottage description. The amenities outlined in the advert for cottage do not reflect reality. The kitchen is not modern, there was no dining table with 4 chairs, just a small table which folded out to be still a small table. There is no balcony or terrace (from what I define a balcony/terrace), there is a steep garden terrace. The local guides and maps were very dated and muddled up. Parking should be clearly stated that it is on-road parking, there is no driveway for your car. The garden is also not private, with it over looking a row of cottages and seems to be a communal garden with no restrictions for others to go in to any garden they choose. Overall, I was quite disappointed with my stay. I have stayed at many holiday rentals and through tripadvisor and I felt like I had better customer service with others. Some flowers on arrival or even a small note to say welcome and to enjoy our stay. Avoid if you are looking for something special.
Spent cosy new year here. Everything was as described and we are already recommending the cottage to friends.
Will definitely be back! Thank you!
